Lovely home and clean, comfortable room (Thomas Hodgens Room). ||We really enjoyed our stay at the Ryan Hodgens Mansion in July, '23. The room can be configured in either a 2 x twin or 1 x King setup and there is an adjoining walk-in closet as well as an in suite full bathroom. We really appreciated the history of the mansion and all of the particulars of an old location like this. The old built-in refrigeration unit with multiple doors as well as the butlers pantry with the original dishwasher were things you just don't see anymore. The mansion is located in the Uptown area of Butte, close to Montana Tech University. ||The rooms on the front of the mansion could be a little loud with street vehicle traffic. There were also issues with the WiFi showing as being connected even though it wasn't working properly. Management seems to be working out some issues with their arrival processes and invoicing but they were terrific to work with.

Having lived at the Mansion for two years, I can confidently say that my entire stay was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the rich history and breathtaking architecture that surrounded me. The vibrant community and exceptional management added a unique charm that made my experience truly unforgettable. What truly sets the Mansion apart is the impeccable attention to detail and level of service provided. Every aspect of my stay was meticulously cared for, surpassing any other place I have ever stayed. The combination of luxury and comfort created an unparalleled experience, while the warmth and character of the community made it feel like I had stumbled upon a hidden gem. Reflecting back, my time at the Mansion holds a special place in my heart. It was a one-of-a-kind journey that left an indelible mark on me. I am already eagerly anticipating my return to this divine location, as it has become a part of me that I cannot resist revisiting. The Mansion truly offers an exceptional living experience that goes beyond expectations, and I feel fortunate to have had the privilege of calling it home.

I had the opportunity recently to travel to Butte for work. I was looking for a home type place to stay instead of a hotel. I was not going to be in the area long enough to rent an apartment. I contacted this property to check on availability. The caretaker Cass responded quickly since I did not have long before heading to the area. ||I stayed in the Laundress Room. It has a twin bed, dresser and desk. Everything I needed for my short stay. The mansion has all the modern conveniences but has kept the integrity of the original home. The woodwork and lead glass doors are beautifully restored. The owner has spent a great amount of time trying to keep a lot of the history alive with honoring the original owners. ||The kitchen has a commercial stove and storage areas for dry goods and iceboxes for each room. ||There were short term, long term and overnight guests. The house is big enough and has many community areas that you don’t feel like you are stepping on toes. Some of the rooms have shared baths and some have private baths. There were not any available rooms when I was there to experience those. I can honestly say that sharing a bath was never an issue with our different schedules. ||I highly recommend this property and will definitely stay here again when I am in the area next time. Thank you again Cass you are an amazing host.

I have stayed in THREE rooms at the mansion, during two trips to Butte. Manager Staci, and also Peggy the owner, are congenial, fun, helpful. In the surrounding neighborhood are many restored homes, historical treasures. Sweeping views out to mountains can be enjoyed at the mansion. Great kitchen/pantry accommodations. The rooms are clean, well kept up, and the common spaces are attractive. The value, the location, the courtesy of the mgr., the beauty of the mansion...so many things to praise. Definitely 5-star.

My son stayed there for the fall semester at M Tech. They took great care of him and the rooms (he moved into 4 different moves while was staying) were all well equipped and maintained. The common areas are spacious and useful. Full kitchen, with appliances, fridge and freezer space. Beautifully restored mansion with every sq inch in great condition. The manager Stacey, went out of her way multiple times to tend to his needs. Highly recommend the place for a weekend stay or longer term.

A family member and I stayed in 2 rooms on the 3rd floor - he had the former ballroom, a large single room with queen bed, seating area with couch, dining area with table and it's own bathroom (shower no tub.) This room has views of the city out 3 sides, great views. The 2 closets are low as they are the former instrument storage rooms for the ballroom but there is also a large armoire in the room. ||||I was in the Frank Little room, a generously-sized room with a fabulous roll-top desk, queen bed, large closet. I shared a bathroom with 1 other room, single occupant. Our rooms both had flat-screen TVs and the Wi-Fi worked well. All rooms have individual keys which also work for the front door. ||||That bathroom has a clawfoot tub with a shower setup. There is no railing and the side of the tub is 21" off the floor, non-slip pad in tub but the setup requires balance and agility. The water took a few minutes to warm but although the pressure occasionally changed with multiple users in the house, the temperature never did, not an issue. The routine is to keep your toiletries and towels in your own room (towels/towel rack provided), no space in the bathroom. There's a rack in the shower that will hold your soap and a few smaller bottles of product, but no other shelving in the shower/tub. I wish I'd had my stuff in a multi-pocket hanging deal for taking in and out of the bathroom (although there's not a good hook in the bathroom to hang it from, either.) And I kept forgetting my hand towel. The bathroom was always immaculately clean. Of course it's nicer to have your own bathroom but I'm glad I didn't allow lack thereof to keep me from staying here.||||Beds were fantastically comfortable with high-quality deep mattresses. Pillows are synthetic, so bring your own if you are particular. ||||The single less-than-desirable aspect of our stay was weather-related. We were there in July and the night after our 3rd day of temperatures above 90 it was pretty warm on the 3rd floor (85+F), this despite open windows with good cross-ventilation and fans - the old well-built houses really retain heat and don't cool down fast even when outdoor temperatures drop, probably nice in the winter....||||The other rooms are all unique, many have their own bathrooms, all a little different. There is one two-room plus bath suite on the 2nd floor, really cool. Rooms are on the second and third floors, no elevator, no bellboys, so pack accordingly. ||||The house has amazing woodwork, period furnishings, great linoleum in the butler's pantry, hardwood floors in the ground floor public areas and a wonderful kitchen. The old ice boxes have been wired for individual refrigerator areas and are assigned to each room. There is assigned space for dry foodstuffs also and plenty of cookware and appliances, microwave and an astonishing 8-burner gas stove. The kitchen is an amazing room with lots of space, large farm table, dishwasher. The best of the old and new. No ice or ice-maker but the corner mart is 3 houses away. There are no in-house food or drink machines or sources but the mini-mart is very close. Full grocery store access is farther away and would require a car.|| ||Washer and dryer are on premises, coin-operated, bring your own soap. There is an iron and board, drying rack and enough room in the laundry room for a treadmill and two other pieces of exercise equipment.||||There are 4 alley parking spaces and plenty of street parking in front and on the side of this corner-lot mansion, first-come, first serve. You will be within walking distance of uptown, rails to trails paths, a few eateries, and all windows have great views of the town's unique components. ||||Manager has apt on-site and was readily available by phone. ||||Hope I get a chance to stay here again.

Hodgens Ryan Mansion is cute and classy. There really isn't a more comfortable place to stay in Butte. Deb, the in-house manager, is awesome and she goes out of her way to make sure you are taken care of. If you want an experience that is both comfortable and unique, this is the place. If you just want a place to stay for work or while visiting family, this is the place to stay.

This is such a cool place. Really great environment and full of butte history. The owner was bad tending and was so friendly and easy to talk with. I’m sad we don’t live closer because I would be there all the time! Totally worth the stop!!
