Hobson House Celtic Inn - Bed & breakfast in Saco - 398 Main St, USA

My husband and I stayed one night and found Hobson House very comfortable. We stayed in the Joseph Goodale Room, which felt more like a suite than just a room. It's location in the house made it feel very private. The bathroom was a little tight, but adequate and clean. The house has a beautiful screened in porch, where we ate a delicious breakfast. A good portion of the back yard is garden, a little overgrown, but very nice and relaxing.||||Since we were in Maine to attend a wedding, we didn't spend much time at the house, but it is lovely, with beautiful furnishings and accessories. Our hostess, Maureen, was very friendly and welcoming. She did everything she could to make our stay enjoyable. One word of caution: have a GPS with you, because Maureen's directions are a little uncertain.

This was our second visit to the Hobson House. It is a terrific value off-season. We stayed in the Alice May Hobson suite, which was spacious, charming and oh so quiet. Maureen and Frank are very accommodating, whether it is icing down our wine or letting us bring a breakfast tray up to the room. We have family in the area and this is our first choice for a nice place to stay when in Maine.

Hobson House, with Frank's breakfasts and Maureen's beautiful garden/pool to lounge in, is the best place in Maine if you don't live in Maine. Even if you do, you could do much worse than spend a good weekend here. These folks understand how to make you feel welcome and cosseted. We've been here every summer for nearly a decade, and we can't wait to get back.

We visited the Portland area for a family reunion and stayed at the Hobson House. The accomodations were comfortable and clean. Owners were very nice, and made us feel welcome. They did say they are really only looking for folks who are staying at least 2-3 nights. We were the only guests while we were there. The home is not air conditioned, and I suppose its not necessary most of the time, but we did have to use several fans, which were noisy. There is a swimming pool on the property.

We are definitely coming back to this charming, warm and friendly Bed and Breakfast. We stayed in the guest house and really enjoyed having the room and kitchen to ourselves. The pool was right outside our door and it got a lot of use from us and our family in the area. Breakfast was served on a lovely screened in porch attached to the main house. ||The landscaping is a gardener's dream and we spent a lot of time walking around the yard and talking with our hostess about her favorite hobby!
