HiWay Inn & Suites - Hotel in McAlester - 419 1/2, 419 S George Nigh Expy #6092, USA

I have been staying at this motel in McAlester, OK off and on for over 13 years and LOVE IT. The beds are comfy, you have a fridge, microwave, TV, and hot shower. All for well under $70 a night. I love being able to park in front of my motel room not locked away in the intersanctum of a hotel with Rib Crib BBQ is just 2 buildings away, great food.

We stayed in room 188 and the floor looks dirty, pulled the sheets back and the pleats in the mattress were full of dirt and lint, my wife took a shower and the towels looked like someone scrubbed the floor or something worse. Every time you flush the toilet, the chain falls off the lever and when you try to put the chain back on your hand is covered with rust from the lever. Tried to watch TV the next morning and and apparently they turn off the internet because there was no network for the TV. Tried to get a soda from the machine outside and it was out of order. They apparently don't have an ice machine because they don't provide an ice bucket. Their heating unit was either too hot or too cold ALL NIGHT LONG. I had to leave a $100 deposit and took nearly 30 minutes for them to issue a refund the next morning because they charged my card $152 for the room and deposit on the same transaction. Needless to say, our weekend get away turned out to be a nightmare. Don't be fooled by the pictures on the website or the outside appearance. DEFINITELY WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN.

The guy that was working in the office was very kind. Even helped us get our car fixed. Wouldn't take the money we offered. Ty Johnny.

Checked in on July 14, 2022, & there was a critter of some sort that woke me up in the middle of the night. Appeared to be a small lizard or something of the sort. I asked to move rooms around 10 pm & the room I was moved to had bugs ALL over the pillows in the bed. After that, I left & went to the hotel across the street & they gave me a room for FREE bc of what I had just endured. After contacting the hotel twice to speak to the manager, Mildred, I was told I could not get a refund because I used their room for at least 4 hours. REALLY??? Wow... will never stay here again and you would be wise not to either. Very unprofessional and not to mention, unsanitary! Unfortunate because over the years we have used this hotel and never will again.

This hotel has the most beautiful rooms and a staff that is unmatched! From the moment of our arrival until the time we checked out I'll stay with pleasant and very enjoyable do solely to the efforts of the staff both before we arrived and checked into her room and during our entire stay. I recommend this hotel to anybody needing or wanting to stay a night three nights or even a week or more in or near McAlester Oklahoma beautiful room beautiful staff beautiful hotel and beautiful Town beautiful people how much more beautiful to get in that five stars yes yes yes!

Rooms are out-dated, & manager runs it more like a privately owned apartment building, than a one nighhter-expecting more out of those that are briefly there, than most are willing to give.

We're staying in the apt type room an it's great a little pricey though for having to provide everything yourself in my opinion.

I guess you really get what you pay for in this case. The girl at the front desk was very pleasant. I went later to ask about ice or if there was a machine I could buy a bottle water. I could smell a substance in the air. Being a drug counselor I'm familiar with the smell. The one room had what looked like blood on the ceiling, floor and bathroom. The other had blood on the hair dryer and floor. They could of at least ran a broom across the floor. The sheets were of course stained. In the room I was in only 1 channel came in and it was collage football during the week. HiWay Inn could be a real great place if the owner invested a little money in paint and soap.
