Let me start by saying we have stayed at many bed and breakfasts over the years. The Historic Oak Hill Inn was nothing short of superb. We were greeted at the door with a friendly smile and a tour of this beautiful home. Our luggage was taken up to our room for us! At 5pm each evening, we enjoyed Mint Juleps in the amazingly manicured courtyard. The fountain, goldfish, and frogs were beautiful and so relaxing to watch. The entire home was immaculate. Our room was very comfortable, and was well stocked with everything we could possibly need. Last but certainly not least, the breakfasts were delicious! The table was beautifully set, and it was apparent the food was prepared by an experienced chef. Doug and Don treated us as though we were old friends and even helped us plan our day exploring Natchez. I highly recommend the Oak Hill Inn.
Last month, as part of our first visit to the US, we had a wonderful 3 nights stay at this beautifully restored home in Natchez. After reading the many past guests' glowing reviews, we didn't want to miss out, so booked our stay over a year in advance. And the actual experience certainly lived up to our expectations. From the delicious gourmet breakfasts, 5pm mint Juleps and cheese platter each day, to the charming bedroom with the four poster bed, everything was perfect. Doug and Don were the most gracious hosts, and supplied all the extra nice touches, like choc chip cookies, and bottle water. And we are especially thankful to them for quickly sending on to us, our passports which we left behind in the room!! (first time ever that we have done this!!)|Location is perfect to walk into town too.
Lovely solo trip to Natchez and couldn’t have felt more welcome at this B & B. Breakfast is incredible - just as the other reviews state. Far more food than I could eat and so delicious! I stayed in the main room downstairs and the bed was super comfy. The room was spacious and I really enjoyed reading on the front porch. The location was fantastic and within easy walking distance of the river and other spots downtown. I will stay here again!
Our stay here was the finale of our girls trip. The grounds are as gorgeous as the inside. The two innkeepers, Doug and Don, made you feel like you were visiting family and they had a wealth of knowledge about the history of Natchez. The crown jewel here is the gourmet breakfast, the table settings were a work of work and the food was 5-star. Forgot to mention the best mint julip in the south is served with cheese and fruit every day at 5:00. Don is the chef extraordinaire and you can see that his culinary skills were honed at the great Brennan's restaurant in New Orleans.
We could not have enjoyed our stay more anywhere but here. Doug and Don were gracious hosts and the property is beautifully adorned with period antiques. We started each day with a gourmet breakfast on fine 1850 style china, and stemmed glasses, and ended each day with Mint Juleps. This would have been a great trip if we never left the house! Our bedroom/bath was very comfortable with luxurious bedding and bath towels. We also enjoyed the gardens including the fish fountain and the croaking frogs! Your trip to Natchez would not be complete without staying here
We visited for three nights. It was soon apparent we needed more time. The town of Natchez combines historic beauty with some of the most friendly people we have encountered. The Oak Hill Inn was the fabulous place to stay. It was intimate and private with the most beautiful garden and ponds. Parking is off street and covered. The house itself is like stepping back in time. The hosts are dedicated to making your experience nothing short of "the best" including the best breakfasts we have ever had staying at an inn. Their knowledge of Natchez history helps you connect to this lovely town. We will return and stay for longer. Thank you!
Me and my wife stayed at the Historic Oak Hill for a wedding , 3 nights. Everything you could imagine from a true southern hospitality place, this was it. From what is known as the best breakfast in the south, it never disappointed, to the charm of the house, to the breeze on the front porch everyday, and close to all our venues, the hosts made sure you were welcomed and appreciated.
Beautiful home in downtown Natchez. Our bed was very comfortable and breakfast was fantastic!! Antiques throughout the home and a welcoming front porch to sit while drinking a mint julep. |Two blocks from great restaurants |We highly recommend this bed and breakfast!
My BFF and I travel together every couple of years and this August we decided to go to Natchez. My BFF booked us at the Stone House and we stayed in the cottage on the back side of the property. The cottage is a 2/1 and adorable. The beds were comfor
