I've been wanting to try this place for quite some time, well I finally got the opportunity to try it.....what a disappointment! Boring, lackluster, bland, and uninspired are a few words that come to mind. The tiramisu looked the most promising until I put it in my mouth... freezer burned and still frozen! The wine pour was on the less than generous side. I was seated in a part of the dining room that was generously light by fluorescent bulbs. There is some interesting artwork to look at and for sale. That's the best I can give this restaurant. Oh, and the wine was fresh since thay had to open a new bottle.
The Columbia restaurant has nothing to worry about. Food is marginal at best. Owner waited on us...very cold to the point of rude. Food was cold and sparse. Paella tasted like Rice a Roni with one shrimp, 2 muscles. Cheese plate is nothing with a few little olives thrown in. Don't be fooled by the their website presentation. Save your money and go to the Columbia if you want good Spanish food. Very disappointed.
This quaint restaurant, around the corner from the main street downtown, is quite good. Everything is seasoned well and authentic. The paella is amazing!! The sangria was delicious; I could have drank a whole pitcher! The waitress/hostess also paints beautiful canvases which are on display. Now I have to go back and this time make room for dessert.
Fun little intimate restaurant in downtown Clearwater. Small menu but packed with flavorful items. Stop by on our way to a concert at the Bilheimer theater. Ordered the cheese platter, Spanish meatballs, empanadas, bravas potatoes and paella. We really enjoyed every dish that we shared and especially the empanadas, meatballs and the bravas potatoes. It is a fun evening to sit and casually. Order multiple dishes to share by sipping on a fine wine.
Just ok. South American food is much better. A baked empanada only half full and a small portion of rice for $15... Disposable tiny cups of lemonade for $2... Nah, this ain't good. Taste was okay but Latin food usually has more taste. The flashy red lights were a bit much and made my kid's head hurt. Waitress was kind. The music was good. But typical Spanish food: over priced, small portions and lacking flavor.
This is a pore excuse for a Tapas Bar. The food seems to all be pre-made and most warmed in a microwave and I do mean warm as the insides of everything we had were cold in the center. The half empty, cold, pale colored empanads might have been warm in an oven since they still retained a slight bit of dry snap on the outside but it wasn't a crunch. It seems as though the 5 Tapas we ordered were purchased from Trader Joe's and only warmed up. I never saw a chef and the only sound I heard was the ding of a microwave coming from the counter 5 feet from our table. Food never seemed to come out of the kitchen, rarely did I even see anyone go through its full length saloon type doors. The only food i saw appealed from under the counter after a ding and placed on the bar by a young girl 5 feet from us.. The decor were made up of lovely framed, large, close up images of a red rose 🌹, some of them the same image, with more art work stacked against the wall in the corner by the not so nice bathroom with the loose plumbing faucet. I imagine the art could be from the adjacent Gallery in the building around the corner. The staff was rather cold, just like the food. Service was slow and they didn't show any personality or speak much... to us anyway... I assume our waiter was also the owner who offered to warm up our items and later said a little apology for the cold food. She placed our bill on the table and walked away. The water came from plastic bottles and a glass of ice at our tables... The only redeeming factor was the Rioja Wine which as delicious. Rarely do I get such a good wine in this class of restaurant.... I am a harsh critic on restaurants since I have worked as a chef but I don't think i am off the mark here... There was a concert that night and the other restaurants were overbooked so this was our next option. Had i known about the food trucks at the venue, we would have eaten there. We won't be back.
We had the beef empanadas, meatballs, garlic potatoes, chicken paella all of it was SUPER GOOD! I was really surprised how much I liked it because I've never had any of these foods before. Definitely my kind of food now 😁
The atmosphere was cute and we like the bricks and the art was unique. However, the food was too disappointing. For the price it wasn't fresh, the food tasted like factory made or frozen then heated up. Empanadas are typically deep fried and yellow and it's seems these were heated up in an oven(Could see wire rack burns). The only thing homemade was probably the sangria. For the price we expect better food, from scratch which would be tastier and easier, not frozen or microwaved Walmart like food. Also, we expect to be served on better plates and cups not dollar tree plates and fake flimsy plasticware. Unfortunately we won't recommend this place for food or wine. Take pride in your restaurant!
