Best hot dog I have had in a long, long time. Delicious, snappy, flavorful dog. I heard lots of good things about Hiram's, and they are all TRUE! Don't miss this place, you will be sorry you did. It's was very crowded, but hot dogs cane out quickly. Definitely will return.
The Foodie travel for food pilgrimage. For pilgrims making their journey be ready for the best hot dog in the country. Located in the historic riverside city of Fort Lee, Hiram’s is literally a landmark, should be in the same category of historic landmarks near by such as the George Washington Bridge, the Palisades, and the first motion picture studio…..except Hiram’s is a landmark much better, they have chili cheese dogs. How to order: door to the right is to sit and eat, door to the left, to go orders. First all, what is better than a hotdog joint that has been around for 80 years? The fact they serve cold beer with food. Cash is king, make sure you have some. And tip. The guys working there are absolute professionals. Their skill set is purely focused on getting in your order, taking your money and feed your face as quickly as possible. So do yourself and them a solid since this is a very popular spot, pre plan in your head your order. Don’t waste their time and the line behind you humming and hawing trying to decide what you want. Back to historic spots near by. Nothing is better than making a trek to Hiram’s with your family ordering a plethora of hot dogs and onion rings and taking a short ride to the George Washington Bridge Park located under the GWB. The sight of NYC skyline from the view of New Jersey water while stuffing your face with the best hot dogs cannot be beaten. If you decide to eat in, they have a cool nostalgic dining room. You place your order and you go find a seat, if there any left. Off hours you will find seating. If you’re lucky enough you lucky enough to get a seat, sit back and take in the history. Looking at the walls with signed picture of the Sopranos cast and signed picture of Anthony Bourdain 30 years ago. This is definitely a memorable experience. If you travel for food, this is your place. Drive carefully and Enjoy your trip.
What is there really to say here? JUST GO! I believe these are the best dogs in jersey. The employees are also super , unlike some other hot dog joints in jersey. You get a great local crowd here with a homey atmosphere inside. Definitely a must stop!
Hiram's is a food stand that is a legend in Bergen County. Not many establishments last nearly 100 years, but Hiram's achieves that distinction, clocking in at over 90, having been in the business since 1932. Once you enter, it's easy to see why. From the second you walk in, you are greeted like a friend, even if you've never been there before. The decor is in two motifs. The lesser of the two is the obligatory " This is a hot dog place", and consists of the standard signs and slogans as well as high mark reviews by local media and national celebrities. The more preeminent motif is one that loudly and proudly proclaims " We are patriotic here! We love this country!". As for the aforementioned staff, everyone, from the counter servers to the cooks, every one of them is bright, cheerful and engaging. You can tell just by their demeanor that they enjoy their work. Additionally, they love to talk to the customers, which adds to the pleasantries. As for my food, I found it very substantial. My burger was a good treat. My chili dog hit the spot with a large size that puts a lot of other places to shame, with a kick to the chili. My fries were a good sized serving. As for seating, Hiram's has some counter seating and a few tables inside, and for the warmer weather, has a number of outside tables to enjoy meals on. All told, Hiram's is a place that deserves its legendary status and high ratings.
Iconic hot dog location. My go to is a chili dog. Couldn't wait and had to eat one of them! Now you can see what two of them look like
I am so lucky to live near this restaurant. It is a historical restaurant and voted best bergen county hot dog place. Hot dog price is raised a little high, but taste never changes. My recommendation is chili dog and onion ring. Also, try their Miller lite draft beer with a hot dog. I would love to go there again this coming saturday. The best part of this place is that there is no tip and tax on the food but I suggest you show some gratitude.
Authentic American road stand hot dog and burgers with open air eating area. Best hot dogs and burgers in New Jersey, but my favorite are the onion rings!
Simple but delicious burgers and fries reasonably priced. And super nice service too! They have beer too and the ambiance of a classic joint. It’s got the whole shebang.
