I’m a Hilton Diamond Member, meaning I use Hilton frequently. This Hilton has a great location and wonderful views. The room was missing a fridge and microwave, which has come to be expected given the price for a room here (Hampton is almost half the price and has both). However, room service brought me a microwave, eventually.
First Hilton I’ve been to that offers 2-hour late checkout for $100 (or $200), usually it’s free.
Housekeeping comes to the room a lot more often then necessary, and even walked into the room 3 times without giving us a second to answer the door or come out of the bathroom. One person walked in on my wife using the restroom while I was in bed.
I could list more that wasn’t worth the stay here, but too much typing.
I wouldn’t recommend staying here, unfortunately.
I planned a trip to KC to celebrate my partner’s 61st birthday. Being a Hilton family member I first look at their properties. The President looked like a charming place and I love historical buildings so I gave it a chance. After booking it I read several reviews and wondered if I made a mistake. I tried checking in at 1:30 knowing it probably wasn’t going to happen but mostly to park my car in the garage. The gentleman behind the counter made that happen so we did not have to find a garage in the meantime. ||We did not get into our room until after 4:30 but had found a dive bar named The Zoo so didn’t really care. I chose room 110 located on the mezzanine level and it turned out to be a great choice - larger than the other rooms and no need to use the elevator. We heard very little noise from the interior but did have some traffic noise not uncommon for a hotel in a city. The bathroom had a vent fan that turned on automatically upon entry. Odd that there was no fridge or microwave but we didn’t really miss them. ||We did enjoy a few cocktails in the Drum Room. Pricy but well made and the atmosphere was great.||All-in-all we had a great visit and would stay again!
This is our second time staying here in the last 2 years. Great location and atmosphere. We did the contactless checking through the Hilton app this time just to see how it is. Smooth process getting your key via app since we were coming in late after dinner. Was able to just drive straight into the parking garage without having to go in first to get the key, then move our car.
Room was very spacious (had a junior king suite) however the TV screen was in an awkward place of the room. The screen couldn't extend out and rotate towards our bed if we just wanted to laze around and watch some TV. The room was a little dry given that the temps were under 20 degree this week. Had to constantly adjust the thermostat throughout the night(since it was on heat only) to make sure my skin and throat wasn't too dried out.
The staff had texted me even before we got into KC to ensure we got everything we needed. Having that number to text was very handy! Had an issue with the shower switch and got it fixed during the time we were out of the room. Great feedback from them and helpful.
Despite a couple issues during the stay, overall a great weekend at the President Hilton!
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Some of the reviews mentioned a dirty room but that was not my experience at all. The room was large and clean. I thought the ambiance of the hotel was fantastic (the cold weather made it even better imo). The service was great. I have not stayed at many 4 star hotels to be honest, but at all the Hiltons I've stayed at none of them have free breakfast - this one didn't either, but $15 for an all you can eat buffet that was pretty good isn't a bad deal.
Finally, the location was super convenient and very nice. I really enjoyed my stay there.
Enjoyed a corner King Jr suite looking South. Very nice view. Room was neat and clean. Bed was comfy. Extraordinary attention to detail in the lobby and Walnut Room. It was clear the proprietor which bought the hotel about a decade ago loved the place and restored it to the glory which it once was. Staff was friendly. The only rub was during checkout I asked the guy, "how are you today," and he answered, "yes". I repeated the question and he deliberately answered the same way. Not a fan of that interaction, but otherwise the entire experience was excellent. Would definitely stay again at this hotel.
Had a great stay for a first time. Was a bit hesitant as this is an older property, but it was well maintained, the staff was friendly, and our room was nice. I actually left a coat there and they FedExed it to me. It is a great location near the Power & Light District. Plenty of restaurants/bars within walking distance. ||||A few things to note if you are going there:||||1) limited parking in front while you check in, and you will need the parking tag before parking in the garage next door. More space in back to park while you check in, but you will have to walk around the hotel to the front as you need a key to get in the back. ||||2) It is an older property, but we found it well maintained and we had a nice, clean room.||||3) There was no microwave nor frig in our junior king suite. ||||||||
Although we were visiting during record low temperatures---staff went above & beyond for our visit. Dropping off cardboard boxes for us to take to bear the frigid temps at Arrowhead Stadium...honored our early check in request. Location was amazing and we could see why it is a desirable spot for nightlife & game day festivities. The cold didn't allow us to really enjoy the Power & Lights District but it is only one block away.
This is an overall nice hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were quiet and clean with comfortable beds. The meeting space was great and the bar had a great selection. The gentleman running the coffee shop was not friendly and could use a few customer service trainings but overall a great hotel.

This is the place to be in KC. My husband and I had such an amazing experience at The Truitt. We loved everything about it. We loved the unique and luxurious decor, the ease of parking, comfort of the room and how easy it was to walk to the art museu
Large well appointed room in a great location to walk to the Art Museum. Very clean easy to check-in and out and nice common areas. Very comfortable bed and temperature control was perfect. Great hot shower. Private secure parking inside the fence
The room was wonderful and the breakfast was very nice. Everyone was very good to us. It was the best place we stayed over the course of our cross country trip. We liked the way that it seemed to match up with the vibe of the downtown. Our room was v
