Incredible curb appeal. The common areas and lobby are stunningly beautiful. The hotel is dated but given that it is more than 100 years old it is expected. Staff is wonderful and friendly. I know that some of the reviews criticize the cleanliness and elevators but my room was very clean and the elevators worked just fine with very little wait (I spent 6 nights in the hotel and never waited for an elevator). My room had a HUGE adult-sized porcelain tub which was very nice.
But, there is one thing to keep in mind before booking. Being a older hotel, they are on a two-pipe system for the first 18 floors. What that means is that if they are on the cooling system, there is no way to warm up your room and if they are on the warming system, there is no way to cool your room. The first 4 nights I was there my room was uncomfortably hot and once they switched to the cooling system the last 2 nights were comfortable. The upper floors/premium rooms have independent climate control. When you book your room, make sure you can control the temperature if that is important to you.
Otherwise, this is a great place to stay. Be sure to pet the puppies in the lobby.
Beautiful room and views. Clean and luxurious. Close to Miller Time Theater. Walkable. Monarch Bar was absolutely stunning. Chop House for steaks and Miller Pub in same building. The room doesn't show well in my photos, but it was beautiful.
Absolutely garbage service the two times we've been there. Didn't have our rooms ready despite showing up 4 hours after check-in. Sent us up to our room just to find that it was being used to store party/meeting room furniture. We had to leave for a concert, so I called and asked the desk to send someone up to get them out. We come back 4 hours later to find that the door to our room was ACTIVELY PROPPED OPEN STILL, with storage furniture still in the room!! Just overall an absolutely abysmal experience, and I will definitely not be staying at a Hilton in this city ever again.
The Hilton Milwaukee City Center was absolutely stunning. The interior took me back to the 1920s. A time of truly opulent design and architecture. The hotel itself was immaculate. The rooms were very clean & cozy. They had a few restaurants within that offered a different dining experience for all. I enjoyed them, you will to. The even had two dogs that live in the hotel and greet you in the lobby!!!
I had a super experienced here, I promise you will as well.
Don’t let the lobby fool you. Spectacular and grand lobby with crystal chandeliers. However, rooms are very very small, bathrooms are the smallest I’ve ever seen in a hotel room. Only pillows provided are decorative pillows to use for sleeping. Smell of weed in room throughout the night. Disappointed.
If you’re ever going to Milwaukee for a vacation, this hotel is definitely worth staying at. Its location is excellent, and it’s only a short walking distance away from the convention center and the Milwaukee Public Museum. It’s also not too far away from the lakeshore, the art museum, and the revitalized riverwalk district.
The floors closer to the top of the building provide breathtaking views of the city, especially the rooms facing toward the direction of Lake Michigan. The view is even more spectacular with the city streets and skyscrapers lit up at night. Definitely a sight worth seeing.
The hotel lobby is lavishly decorated with sparkling chandeliers and unique ceiling and wall designs, of which were common during the age of art-deco architecture. One floor below the lobby, there are several restaurants, including a breakfast place and a steakhouse.
The experience at this hotel is overall a blast. The only downside is that there was no room service that would bring food to the hotel room when I was staying here, but I didn’t let that one inconvenience ruin my experience. This historic hotel is amazing, and so is the city of Milwaukee. Again, I highly recommend staying at this place for the best possible hotel experience during a trip in Milwaukee.
The hotel front desk staff is amazing!! Thank you Haley for making my daughters stay with you outstanding. I really appreciate how everyone is very attentive and caring!!! You all went out of your way to make sure she had everything she needed. Thank you for the kind card and flowers!! This kind gesture helped lift her spirits when she needed it.
We’ve stayed here many times. This time is different. As a Diamond member I expected to have access to the executive lounge. I was told that it is “closed for the season” which means my status is not valued at this hotel. Not cool!
Not even open for snacks, a place to get water, juice, coffee and soda. That’s cheap, placing customers second and inconsiderate.
Yes, I receive a daily $15 food credit which is comparable to some Hilton properties.
Staying 5 nights and told upon arrival that I would not have housekeeping because of the length of my stay! What? Call down to schedule if needed was the front desk reply. Okay.
Not sure we will stay here again.

Great location, renovated rooms, super clean. Highly recommend. Great staff, easy check in and out. Parking was in back and perfect for a large vehicle. Perfect location. Loved the breakfast downstairs. Highly recommend.
The room was old, the door deadbolt wouldnât lock unless you lifted the door and they didnât have curtains that closed all the way, letting light in. But the service and breakfast was top notch.
