Hilton Head Tavern - American restaurant in Hilton Head Island - 44 Shelter Cove Ln, USA

Bad wine, the spinach artichoke was like not anything I have ever seen. It was not even green. And since when do you put crumbs on top of spin dip? Wrong meals were brought to our table. I ordered a tavern burger and received a grouper sandwich. She says, "Are you sure you didn't get the grouper. French fries were cold. The waffle fries were so overcooked, as you can see in the picture. The manager argued with me that it is the color of the waffle, I said no they are extremely over cooked and hard like a rock, the manager replies again that it is the color and that is how they come out of the bag, which I replied no they don't, they are over cooked and I wouldn't serve them to a dog. The managers response, you wouldn't serve them to a dog. Listen up, Lakeshia, you are the manager. Why are you arguing with customers. It is your job as the manager to fix issues, not make them worse. This place has the potential to be awesome. Until new management is put into place and kitchen staff can properly cook and plate meals, this business will suffer. If their was not for a regular influx of tourists who do not know about the issues with this place, their would be no business. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and SKIP THIS PLACE.

This place is under new ownership since we were here last year. We didn't have the best prior experience under the former ownership, but we noticed the name had changed and gave it a try for lunch and the Colts game. The food and service were great, but unfortunately, on Christmas Eve, the Grinch stole the Colts game. My hubby got the fish and chips, and I got a build your own salad with grilled chicken. You get to even pick out the type of lettuce you want to use out of 4 different options. 😏

Food was really good! We did Pretzel Bites with beer cheese to start. I was pleasantly surprised, they were delicious. I've had them elsewhere and then are often overcooked but these were perfect. My Dad had a burger and liked it. He gave it a 7/10. My daughter and I each had 6 wings. She did her plain 8/10. I did plain (charred) with hot on the side. 7/10. Charred was delicious but the hot sauce was not good if you are used to a traditional buffalo sauce. We also got a side of tater tots and omg they were the best I've ever had. Should add tochos to your menu! It was wing Wednesday so 6 for $5 or 10 for $10. We took 10 to go plain as well.

Food was good. The portions seem a bit small and I'm seeing this everywhere now. You still pay the high prices but less food. The kids portions were decent though. Overall great place to go. Nice atmosphere and the customer service was pretty good

Had a great experience here 12/16/23. Been craving a good burger for a while and came back to this place for the Smokehouse Burger and it was excellent! Had it before but this one hit on every level. Burger was juicy, cooked to my liking, and the bacon and onion straws were perfectly crisp! The server, Chantille, checked in regularly to ensure all was well and kept my sweet tea full. Definitely recommend and will return again. Thanks

We were down in Hilton head island for couple of days so we came across Hilton head tavern. First is the atmosphere a lot of tv proper example of sports bar, games and lot more they got a huge bar and it was very busy we were on wait for 25 mins which is not bad. food was top class but need to mention about service. Sam was the nicest server I have ever met in my life he was very busy but still he made sure we are doing good, he was talking to our kids suggested some popular dishes of the restaurant and suggested us what to do in Hilton head island. He went above and beyond to serve us, made our night and our experience lot better. One negative review I need to give about this place the next day we came back because of his service we requested the host for his service but the host he refused us we even said if he was busy we are ready to wait but the restaurant was not busy at all, Sam came out said hi to us was talking to us we asked him if we could get sat where he is working but he said it’s all up to the host. The host refused so we left ,sadly it was our last day in Hilton head island but hopefully next time when we come back we can get his service.

In town for a conference. Dined in on Thursday night at 6:30, party of 4. Seated immediately. Nice, open and welcoming atmosphere, lots of TVs for watching sports, etc. It was Music Bingo night which was LOTS of fun. As a group, we ate burgers and a chicken sandwich and enjoyed a cocktail. The Charleston burger's combination of flavors was delicious. The sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly and drizzled with syrup or honey. The Merica burger was standard burger fair. The Mac and cheese was a little under seasoned. The nachos were served hot, about what you'd expect. The service was a little slow. Sam was very nice but seemed overwhelmed. The bathroom was clean but the floor was slick. We enjoyed the Music Bingo so much that we'd likely return.

Just got into town and this place was close to where we are staying. We sat at the bar and Brie was behind the bar, she was delightful and very knowledgeable about the menu and the beers. We had the Nachos Deluxe and they were very good. Very nice and spacious atmosphere, with plenty to choose from the menu and seating options. They also have happy hour on drinks from 4 - 7 everyday and daily specials Monday thru Thursday. You can also text for a free appetizer for your next visit. *Today Saturday, we went for a late lunch and Brie was there again! Nice seeing her today. We ordered the quesadilla appetizer, Cobb salad and Philly cheesesteak sandwich. So delicious for sure!
