Was pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it was. They have arguably the best part of Waikiki beach with smooth, rock-less sand. They have good food options, and the atmosphere is bustling and active. They upgraded my room to ocean front free of charge along with delaying my check out late. They also were very friendly as well. There has been a spate of negative reviews in regards to the strike, but that is to be understood. The employees are not the enemy; pay them fairly, everyone deserves a living wage.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village is a great place to spend your vacation in Waikiki. While the property is located in the City you will find yourself secluded on quiet beautiful grounds which will make you forget that you are in the city. ||The staff at the hotel is very helpful. This starts with the front desk clerk who checks you in to all the staff throughout the property. The cleaning staff is very friendly and helpful. Since they are the staff you have contact with every day, they are the ambassadors for Hilton and this property. ||There are some areas that Hilton could put a little investment into on the grounds. We stayed in the Rainbow tower and while the room was nice it needs to be updated. The rooms get a lot of turnover, and you can see the wear and tear on some of the items in the room. ||The pools could use a better schedule for vacuuming. First, they should do the pool vacuuming earlier in the morning. They seem to shut down the pool in the middle of the day when they are cleaning it. This cleaning can take up to three hours from what I had seen. They should also clean the pools more often. The pools get so much sand in them that after a couple days you think you are standing in the ocean. The hot tubs need to have the jets fixed. The ocean is right there with a very nice beach. The water is calm.||The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The shops have anything you need so you do not have to go out for anything if you do not want to. The restaurants are outstanding. They are pricy but you are at a resort. The restaurants are also very diverse. You can get a grab and go, a sandwich or pizza, all the way to a very nice sit-down dinner. We ate at all the restaurants and were not disappointed. We had dinner and breakfast at the Bali Restuarant. The wait staff was friendly and did not rush you through your meal. ||I highly recommend the Hilton Hawaiian Village to anyone planning on visiting Waikiki.

We visited the Hilton Hawaiian Village many years ago and looked forward to our return to the All'i Tower as we have always enjoyed our stays there.|Much was made of the "individual check in experience" and the feeling of a smaller resort within a resort and this was why we selected this building out of the many on the resort.|Our first impression was of chaos in the Lobby area. Hundreds of people lining up to check in (to be expected to a certain extent based on the number of rooms), however we walked straight past the lines to the Ali'i Tower and our more individual check in experience. Sadly the signs explained the Ali'i Tower desks were only manned until 5pm so back to the queues we went. Check in was fine, perfunctory and efficient once we got to the front of the line. Nothing more or less than a procedure.|Our room was on the 4th floor and perfectly ok. was it 4 star, probably not. Broken tiles in the bathroom, the curtain not quite hanging properly and a general slightly tired feel but quite acceptable. Very thin towels and bare minimum toiletries that you would expect in a 2 star property.|We looked forward to our visit to the quieter pool reserved for guests of our building only. This was the biggest disappointment. The pool looked sadly in need of serious attention, missing tiles, and a whole lot of sealant all over which clearly is a temporary repair that has been there for far too long. The edges of the pool area have missing cement and the area really needs some serious care and attention. They did fix the outside shower while we were there eventually. Mismatched sun umbrellas and towels, though freshly laundered have seen better days. On two days two different families were allowed to bring loud speakers and inflict their own music to the rest of us that wanted peace and quiet. Selfish guests went unchallenged by pool staff so we left. Sadly the other pools have no shade and no umbrellas unless you are prepared to pay $199 a day for a cabana. The pools are busy, really busy and getting somewhere to sit is a challenge, lines start at 8am to get a sun bed.|On one day our room was forgotten by housekeeping, after several phone calls we managed to get them to service the room. |Staff that we had dealings with were all quite nice, but our overall feeling is that the property seems to have lost the wow factor it had before. The parrots. penguins and other birds that used to live here have all gone, and the place just feels like nobody cares any more.|The biggest asset the HHW has is its location. A wonderful part of Waikiki Beach with the beach at its widest and very safe to swim. Walkable to all the restaurants and attractions of Waikiki but away from the hectic feel. We avoided the crowded bars and restaurants of the Hotel (all of which involved lines and waiting) and found a few tranquil places (not telling you where!) that we returned to over and over again, not spending a single penny at the Hilton that we did not absolutely have to. |To add to all this the $50 a day resort fee includes nothing of any use to anyone so basically is a complete rip off. Just add to the room rate please. We paid $350 as we left for our 7 nights and felt like we got absolutely nothing for it except a list of "benefits" that did not interest us at all.|We have already booked to come back next year which we are beginning to think was a big mistake.........we should have waited until we had experienced this stay before booking the next one. We had never expected the Hilton to have gone downhill like this.

If you’re reading this, it is your sign to book another hotel elsewhere. Our flight was delayed and we didn’t check in until the next day. At check in the staff wasn’t pleasant or welcoming. I asked in lieu of the credit for the loss of the day we get a late checkout since our departure flight was at 9:30. They wouldn’t accommodate. The only offer was not to charge me the resort for the day I wasn’t there. The resort fees Are $70 per day and DO NOT provide anything - not a chair, umbrella, breakfast, water, nothing! They clean the room but don’t change the sheets. I had to call several times for towels and replenishment of soap. The hotel rooms are old and run down. The hallways reeked of trash. The resort itself it overcrowded, the pools are dirty and aren’t cleaned. There are not enough lounge chairs and do not have life guards. The slides are only open a couple of hours a day. Several areas and restaurants were closed under construction including walkways making it inconvenient in an already congested area. The parking fees are astronomical. Be prepared to walk. Everything is far. As a HH member I expect more especially when I’m paying thousands of dollars to be here. I had better experiences at other hotels in Waikiki. I will never stay here again.

All the parking, activities, and entertainment at this place is exceptional. Everything feels welcoming, with lots of people welcoming you. The first time I stayed, I was skeptical because the room wasn't at all modern. However, I then realized that if you pick the right tower, the room actually is quite good compared to the other hotels I've stayed in Waikiki. Highly recommend.

We were very disappointed in our most recent stay this September. My family and I have stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Rainbow Tower for over 30 years, but it’s not the same. First, local hotel workers were striking when we arrived due to poor wages. They were loud, with bull horns and drums, and continued until 10 p.m. I don’t blame the workers for the disruption in the peace; I blame the resorts because they make billions and won’t even pay local Hawaiians a livable wage. We paid Hilton an extra $75 for an early check-in, but we still didn’t get into our room until after 5 pm because the rooms weren’t ready due to reduced staff because of the strike. The Rainbow Tower is dilapidated. We reserved an oceanfront Jr suite, and although the views were stunning, everything in the room was damaged and rundown. The carpet and all the furniture are damaged and dingy. As expensive as the room was, housekeeping was limited, and the hotel placed extra towels and toilet paper on the elevator side tables for guests to take as needed. Wear and tear at any hotel is expected, but there are signs of neglect all over the resort. I find it astonishing that a revered brand like Hilton would allow this iconic resort to fall into such disrepair. After the first night, we opted to check out and booked a different resort on the north shore to try something new. The local Hawaiian staff was super friendly and as accommodating as possible, as expected from a culture of such kind and welcoming people. I hope Hilton does the right thing by their local employees and the resort so I can one day return to the beautiful Hilton Hawaiian Village I remember from my childhood.

I was very disappointed with the state of the Diamond Head Tower tattered torn and dingy. We had ants in our room and the only thing they would do is come in wipe down the area. I explained to them I already had bleach wipes and have done that. I tried to speak to a manager nobody ever called me back, and they stated the manager was busy. Sunday, September first apparently was a strike day for employees here. I attempted to call the manager to find out what restaurants are open what kind of compensation was going to be given for all the inconvenience; this was about noon. I was told to call back she was out of the office. I did call back, and no one ever answered the phone. Today is September 3rd and we are now leaving. No housekeeping or trash has been taken out since Sunday, September 1st. Towels were set out in the hallway exposed to the elements. toilet paper as well, all sitting by the elevator. Lots of people are striking being noisy. It seems to me that if Hilton would pay the livable wage, maybe Hilton's patrons would not have to pay the cost for that with their vacations being ruined. It's my understanding that Hilton knew the strike was coming and have a contingency plan, although that's not a how it appears to me I could go on and on, but I'm not. DO BETTER Hilton !!! These were just a few of the strikers on the pictures below, so just imagine the noise level when downstairs. I could also hear them on the 10th floor where I was located. I am a fairly new Hilton's honors member. I'm not sure if it is worth continuing even despite the strike. I don't go on vacation to wait in line and there's a lot of that going on here. On a good note, the rooms have amazing views and I met some wonderful people from all across the world. The property has a lot to offer, just not enough staff and very expensive.

What a total disappointment! I have never experienced this poor of hotel service standards in my travel history for personal and/or business It was ridiculous we had to deal with this horrible situation plus the lack of friendly, helpful customer service needed to resolve the issues. Had a family trip for 12 and needless to say, we will never go back to this hotel. Day one, three of the four rooms I paid for were ready and available for our family by check in time, 4pm. One of the rooms which was my husbands and mine was not ready due to a shower curtain issue. We checked front desk every hour from 1:30pm until 6:30pm. At that point, I asked if there's not another room available instead of our original room which took quite a bit of request to do so. They finally gave us the keys and we went up to the room and it was a disaster. Food, empty alcohol bottles and trash was spilled in the room and bathroom. I call front desk and I asked for a manager, the manager said it will take a while to find another room. I decided to walk back down to get another room. There was no apology from the staff on what we were experiencing and at this point I was utterly disappointed. It took about 30 minutes for them to find another room and get us taken care of. Meanwhile my husband was contacting Hilton Corporate and he got the same thing, no apologies for our situation and the poor service we received at this hotel establishment. All of the rooms I reserved were all ocean view and to say ocean view, it was more like a parking lot with a view of the ocean in the distance. The rooms were outdated and dingy. The last straw was BED BUGS in my parents room, which I brought the bag of bugs and placed on the counter. I immediately went down stairs to get a new room and again no apologies came from the staff and I demanded a new room immediately and of course had to wait three hours for one to be ready. At this point with how Hilton handles their customer services, our family has chosen to no longer use this hotel chain. I have shared our experience with friends and family and for your health and safety recommend to stay away from this hotel. This hotel is a hazard, stay away! If I had the ability I would give zero stars but the system requires a star in order to complete review.
