Hilton Garden Inn Wooster - Featured Reviews (608)
We love this hotel the staff is really friendly and cat friendly but they do require a deposit we ended up having a friend pet sit for us for the night and we booked our stay the room was clean and crisp feeling the bathroom was a little run down with rust stains and chipped paint but it wasn’t terrible the beds in the room we had 212 were very firm but comfortable and at the check in desk they had fresh cookies the pool and hot tub were definitely a great way to relax after a long day of travel and we were the only ones in there when we got up we packed our bags and loaded up the car and check out was a breeze we decided to stay a little longer and had breakfast which was inexpensive and delicious I highly recommend the breakfast sandwich! All and all a great stay and we will be back in the future.
The staff was wonderful and helpful. The bed was comfortable. I actually appreciate that breakfast is purchased separately since I never take advantage of the breakfasts. The pool was comfortably warm and just large enough to actually swim short laps. The hot tub was wonderful! :)
Everything here was literally perfect. Easy check in, pool was clean, hot tub was hot, lobby was nice to play card games with kids. They have table and chairs and extra cozy chairs in the lobby. Our room was on the first floor with 2 queen beds, a comfy chair, tv, fridge and well supplied bathroom. There is a sign at the front lobby stating there is construction in some rooms from 8am to 8pm. We heard nothing on the first floor. The whole hotel is very clean including bathrooms off of the lobby and in the pool area. Also, There is plenty of parking and it’s in a nice area for those coming to/near Wooster or Amish country.
I don't think they're used to it being as busy as it has been the last couple days. Management is not really on top of stuff: rooms weren't serviced, so I had to use my personal laundry bag to return towels in trade for new towels. Beds weren't made but I did it myself. The restaurant is more of a short-order type of place but there is a bar so that's nice.
This place is typical of a motel but I trusted the Hilton to be an actual Hilton. This one is more of a motel type situation. The dryer was broken so they sent us to the Comfort Inn next door to do laundry. I would have saved money going to the Comfort Inn or the Hampton Inn & Suites in Ashland, which was my actual destination but I stayed in Wooster for the Hilton. This is not a "real Hilton," more like "Dollar General Hilton." Maybe a franchise issue or, like I said, they were way busier than usual due to the tornado. Every Lineman in the Great Lakes was out here fixing the damage. They were really hawt and sweet so I wasn't too irritated about that.
The staff here is fantastic. They really bend over backwards to make it a good experience (within their ability). I was hesitant to review because I don't want any of those beautiful people hassled. I guarantee it's a greedy owner/manager who doesn't hire enough and/or pay enough so they can skim as much $$ as possible from their little enterprise.
MGMT: DO NOT give your staff horse apples about this review. They're fine. YOU need to staff appropriately and give them the resources they need to do the job to the best of their abilities. I know y'all are renovating and that's expensive, but in the end it's the people that make the business
Like many other Hilton Garden Inn, the room lighting is cool-white Led bulbs. That's great for a hospital room, but it's atrocious for a hotel room.
Our “go-to” hotel officially became last on our list! We visit Wooster several times a year and for the past handful of years have always chose Hilton Garden Inn. Unfortunately though, that quickly changed on our March visit. ||The hotel is undergoing construction and has been for quite some time now. This has resulted in nearly half of the right side of the parking lot being blocked. We visited pulling a trailer and had no way of getting turned around when in the back parking lot.. and no parking without blocking other guests in. When we noticed this, we visited the front desk to only be greeted by a super rude employee who acted like she had no time to deal with us.. We asked if we could park beside of the dumpster and she quickly told us that we could leave our trailer unattended on the “ramp” which was the main road coming in from the nearby gas station. Upon this statement, the General Manager stepped in and was worse than the first employee. She offered no apology, no solution and no response other than to tell us to cancel our reservation, wait 72 hours for a refund and to find a different hotel. ||Fortunately, the Comfort Inn next door was more than gracious. After hearing about our incident, they treated us so kindly and were so caring. They made an effort to walk out and help us park somewhere safe.. even to the point of making sure we were in surveillance camera view. They gave us a room that was easily accessible from our parking and that had a window view of our truck/trailer. They gave us a discount, offered free breakfast (which you must pay for at Garden Inn), had free cookies/drinks/coffee and it was clean, quiet and the best stay that we have had while visiting Wooster. ||We felt unwelcomed, not valued and basically talked down to by the Garden Inn staff and don’t plan to ever return. ||If visiting, do yourself a favor and go with Comfort Inn next door. Not only will you save money, but you will leave feeling like your business was appreciated.
I don’t even know where to begin Bed both beds squeak with every turn pillows no options like most had to use comforter as a pillow air conditioner so loud some flashing light on wall channel options are not good and this was by far the worst Hilton I’ve ever stayed at. There is literally a charge for everything but the rock hard cookies no breakfast no nothing I had 3 hours sleep I am calling corporate I stay at the Hilton hotels a lot the only plus to this one is it is clean but it’s the cheapest poorest quality hotel I’ve ever stayed in
Absolutely love this hotel. Stayed here last year and again this year. Excellent breakfast options. Pool and hot tub are a must. Staff is outstanding
**UPDATED WITH PICTURES!!**
I cannot say enough nice things about the St Paul Hotel and their staff. Breakfast is served at your door and the exposed brick is everything.
We stayed here for 2 nights and rented their event space for our wedding. Brend
Very friendly and helpful baristas! Coffee and latte were awesome! And reasonably priced! Would highly recommend! Want to go again if I'm in the area!!
I live down the street from here and love it when we decide to go for pizza while these guys are open. Their pizza is phenomenal, and the owners are the sweetest. The handmade ice cream sandwiches are also amazing. This place is a true gem!
My kind of place! Loved the brown sugar shaken espresso. Very local feel, and very cosy. A spot where it is easy to get comfortable, and get some caffeine in my blood.
