Parked out front and one of the automatic doors was stuck open. Should have taken the hint and found a new hotel. Check in went well. When we got to the room it had queen size bed not the king size we reserved. Not the first surprise. Two rolls of toilet paper that were 3/4 of the way through. Room had dirt spots on walls and not enough towels for 2 people. Fine, will survive. Then we realize there is no information on room service. One reason we chose this hotel was room service. And none. Unless it was in hiding. This was listed on the website. No house keeping whole time we were here. I had to go to front freaking desk for more toilet paper because we had no house keeping. At least there was the pool, which was over chlorinated and you somehow dirty looking. Please find a better hotel. Please.

Very disappointed and will not stay here ever again. We stayed 3 days at this location. After the first night I sliced my right calf on the bedframe which had a very large piece of angle iron (part of the bed frame itself). I alerted the front desk and the young woman said that she would write it up and that it would be taken care of. When I returned that evening, it had not bee taken care of and didnt get corrected for the time that we were there. If you stay in room 201, and get injured on the bedframe, please contact an attorney because the location is now culpable and I will gladly be your expert witness! Secondly we were very disappointed that the breakfast was almost $22 per adult when the majority of other Hilton properties serve a breakfast complimentary. The price of the rooms for our stay were more expensive than the Hampton Inn just down the road a bit. Lastly I do not like to wear my shoes in the room as I believe that I should be able to relax without shoes when in the room. The carpet was so old and dirty (very dirty) it was actually frightening to not wear shoes so I was never really able to simply relax without putting a pair of shoes on. This facility does not seem to live up to the standard that I have come to know with Hilton branded properties!!

Do not stay at this hotel. As you will see in other recent reviews, the hotel is filthy, all the way from the hallways to rooms. As other guests have noted, I found evidence of bedbugs under the mattress, and the general condition of the building was not up to Hilton standards. In fact, it is the worst Hilton property I've entered in more than 25 years. How bad? I immediately left the property after checking my room. If you're looking for Hilton property in Shelton, CT, stay across the street at the Hampton Inn Shelton, which in comparison to the Hilton Garden, rates 4.5 stars.

I booked my stay with points and went to check in, however their system was down. They asked me to write down my CC information and I was not okay with that. Went a little "Karen" and called corporate and they offered no alternative. Ended up canceling my stay getting my points back and sleeping in a rest station on the way home. Wish it could've been a better experience.

On a Saturday we were fourth in a long line of at least seven parties trying to get into their rooms. There was one woman checking in guests as well as answering the phone. Everyone was impatient and frustrated, especially since many had parties or weddings to attend in just a couple of hours and needed to get dressed. I called the desk from line and asked if there was anyone else available to help, and was told there was not. Shortly, thereafter, a tall guy who looked like a manager appeared from the office behind the front desk and asked a few people in line if they had their reservation ready. A few showed him their information on their phones and he merely nodded and said “OK will get to you very soon “ and then disappeared again. ||A couple of hours later we were getting ready for a party and heard kids’ voices and yelling from the hall, loud enough to prompt us to stick our heads out to make sure there was nothing awry. When we were leaving we saw the source: in the lower lobby, near the meeting rooms, there were at least ten kids, ages 8-12, playing a rousing game of field hockey with their parents and siblings chatting on the sidelines and on the open stairway. As we passed the lobby desk 50 feet away, the three employees there seemed oblivious to the noise and inappropriate activity happening at their hotel. We mentioned it and they seemed surprised. The noise was disturbing to guests and it was certainly a liability issue for the hotel. The lower lobby is a pass-through for the covered parking as well as the pool and gym. ||Some other issues: the hot tub we visited the next morning had crumbling and cracked surfaces. The hair dryer wasn’t working properly and blew cool air. It was impossible to turn on the shower without getting soaked in the process. The bathroom looked updated, but the vent cover was badly rusted and looked dirty. There were pump bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash but no other amenities in the bathroom like lotion or shower cap. ||Breakfast was NOT included. There were scrambled eggs, potatoes and sausages for hot offerings as well as cereal, etc. Adult price was $21.95, which seemed very steep. ||The most distressing thing, however, was that we returned to our room after a 20 min trip to the hot-|tub downstairs to find the door to our room WIDE OPEN. It was especially puzzling because, as we were trying to figure out how it happened, we couldn’t get the door to stay open in the same position as we found it. It would automatically swing shut. It seemed like someone intentionally opened it and left it wide open. I know I closed it too, because I tested the keycard with the door firmly shut before I left. There were no housekeeping carts in sight. Thankfully, none of our belongings had been touched. It was really odd. ||We paid a discounted rate of $269 for this very basic room with terrible service. There are other hotels in the area - try one of those. I wish we had.

At some point the ownership needs to do something about the front-desk manager and in general the management of the hotel. I stayed for five days and the young guys and ladies at the front desk were very good. As soon as the front-desk manager came in everything changed. She charged double the card fees, I provided her proof, no apology, no service, no smiles. Stay in another hotel, avoid the Hilton hotel. By the way, I have called the main Hilton line to express my concerns and nothing happened. At this hotel, the management as well as the Central Hilton administration simply do not care. I gave them two stars and by the end of this review I remembered how they behaved and even one asterisk is too much for their unprofessionalism.

Beware, do not stay here! Worst hotel experience you could imagine. The hotel is very dated, rooms were not clean and had an odor. I had to change rooms twice because the AC does not work and the customer service was awful. Stood at the front desk for over 10 minutes just trying to get someone to help!! I travel for work every week and this makes me want to never stay at a Hilton again. And I’m editing my review because they gave out my room to someone else while I’m checked into it!!!! Someone just opened the door on me. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE.

Check in on August 19, 2024 got my room and the rug was wet had to request another room, got another room and on my last day was met by a cockroach at the coffee maker and a centipede in the shower. Hotel is in need of a makeover. Also a cold breakfast cost $21.50 for bagels, cereal, no hot breakfast during the week.

We had a house fire and requested the Residence Inn and did not regret it! Clean, attractive and dog friendly, we were happy to be there. The staff was very courteous and responsive to our every need...will stay there again in happier circumstances!
