Hilton Garden Inn Savannah Midtown - Featured Reviews (1181)
I am a Hilton diamond member and came for work. For the price I was not expecting anything fancy which is accurate but expected. The 3 stars come from the hotel cleanliness overall. The hotel needs a deep clean. They are using these fragrance air pods all over the hotel and the hotel smells like a fragrance air freshener 24/7 maybe to cover up the smell. False sense on cleanliness. Walls are very thin and I can hear my neighbors and a their full on conversation each morning.
Bar area and drinks are reasonable and staff is friendly. Good location. He did announce on my check in that if I hear banging it is because they are beginning remodeling. Fingers crossed.
I have stayed at this hotel a few times now for business travel. I normally find Hilton hotels moderately priced, but safe and clean. Unfortunately, over the last few years, I’ve seen this hotel’s quality diminish. I love this hotel for the location. It’s perfect for me when I’m here for work. However, for the price you do not receive an adequate experience.
The elevators: There’s only two elevators for the hotel. During my entire stay, one was broken and the other took anywhere from two minutes to five minutes to reach your floor. Most people, like myself, found it more convenient to walk up the five flights every time we needed to go up or down. It was heartbreaking seeing so many elderly persons waiting for one elevator.
Cleanliness: The hotel does need some major updates. It’s clear they do not put any money into the establishment. My room felt clean, however my toilet kept backing up just because the water kept running. The hallways were pretty filthy. There was a dirty handprint and other prints on the wall outside my door.
Services: The young lady at my initial check in was very sweet and kind! I wish I remember her name as I hope she receives credit for being amazing.
Breakfast: Like others stated, the price of the food was not worth it. The options were limited and you have to sit down in the smaller breakfast area. I just spent that money down the street at better breakfast options.
Hotel Attendees: One other aspect I have noticed as I come here often, are the types of people who stay. There’s sometimes small families or other business people. However, every time I’ve been here there’s been massive groups who are extremely disruptive. I’m all for having fun but this is not a quiet hotel. We had a group of teenage girls on our floor (maybe) pull the fire alarm and one of them thought it was humorous to run down the hallway without a shirt on for giggles. This is not a place I will bring my young family to while staying here for pleasure. After this experience, I will be finding another hotel to frequent for my business trips.
I will start this review by explaining why I’m rating 3 stars. First off, breakfast costs over 13$. This is something that automatically docks points in my opinion as breakfast should be free based on the high amount of money you are already paying to stay at a hotel. This hotel is pretty dirty from what I could see. My room was clean but the overall hotel could use a deep cleaning. The pool in the back looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months and that’s probably due to the cold weather and low use but appearance is everything. The gym is nice but there is no cleaning solution to clean off the equipment after use. I won’t go on forever with the negatives.
The staff working at this hotel are very friendly and helpful making the overall experience stress free. Once again I’ll add my room was very clean and I don’t have any complaints about it. I would stay here again for sure due to the awesome location and price.
One thing the hotel needs to look into fixing is the washing machine and dryer. Although I didn’t personally see them, the front desk staff told me they weren’t working. This should be a priority fix and take no longer than a few hours.
The hotel staff was sooooo accommodating! Ashanti Love is the best. Very family friendly especially when it comes to large crowds. The overall stay was great. The elevators didn’t handle all the heavy traffic, but besides that I highly recommend
Not good if you’re interested in getting any sleep. The walls are paper thin. You hear everything in the hall. You can hear your next door neighbor on phone and can hear upstairs people running around. Needs a major refresh too.
My room was dirty...there was trash in the trash can..the covers were spotted up..and the shower had used products in it and there were no big towels. I spoke with the front desk they agreed the room was dirty but could not give my money back due to the rate! I was offered points instead. Customer service is so bad these days. Theses companies care more about the money than the customer experience! I expected better from a Hilton brand.
This hotel gets a Zero rating from my family and I. We recently stayed here at the Hilton Garden Inn, Savannah Mid-Town for 1 night. Our toilet over flowed at 1 am in the morning. The hotel didn't have a plunger so the night worker sent my son to neighboring hotels to find one. She was more concerned about her shoe being broken and was trying to fix it and I guess it was bring your dog to work night so she said she couldn't leave. She gave us towels to soak up the water, but that was it. We needed to get up in a couple hours to continue our road trip so we decided not to pack up all our things and everyone and move rooms at 3am. |At check out, I asked to speak to the manager, Chris Dixon. I simply told him the situation and asked if we could be compensated somehow or not even pay for the room for the inconvenience. Well, he immediately got defensive and raised his voice and said, "No, you will not get anything, you refused to move rooms and because you chose not to, we will not offer anything and I already called the 3rd party company you booked with and denied a refund if you try to call them. I told him we laid the last of the towels on the floor to soak up since at that point we had only 2 more hours of sleep and a 12 hour drive that morning, but he refused with attitude. |On another note, the tub was not in the best condition, if you wanted breakfast it was $13 and if you had more than 3 people in the room you would have to ask for more towels because there was only 3 and we had a 2 queen bedroom with 4 people. There was no luggage carts either. |You could not even pay me to stay here again
Room wasn’t ready despite coming 5 hours after check in was allowed. We were warned then sent anyway. Beds not made, carpets wet, room smelled bad. Offered another room which smelled like mold, chips all over the floor. Breakfast was not great for $14 per person which was offered free due to the number of issues. Once settled in, they began vacuuming the hallway carpets at 10:45pm. Couldn’t find a luggage carrier. Outdoor pool looked clean but didn’t use. Expected more from a Hilton entity, especially for the price.

Was traveling through and had the privilege of working out with a fun and talented group. The online sign up was super easy, was able to sign my waiver and reserve a class in a jiff. The gym was conveniently located and a quick walk from my hotel. T
