Excellent location on the corner of 11th and Arch streets, with a parking garage attached. Reading Terminal Market is right next door, and Chinatown starts on the next block. The staff were wonderful. Every time I stepped into the lobby, I received a cheerful greeting and was asked if I needed anything. The room was clean and had everything I needed. I thought the bed was uncomfortable, but the hubs slept well. There is a restaurant/bar on the top floor, but when we checked it out at dinner time, it was empty. I asked the bartender if they had happy hour specials and was told no, they did not. Maybe they should...
This hotel is centrally located and a wonderful home base for sightseeing. Reading Terminal Market is right there and has more food options than you will have a chance to try (go early, they close at 6). Chinatown also offers great restaurants and is right around the corner. Old City (Liberty Bell)is within walking distance, even for me. The room (junior suite) is spacious and comfortable. The bar/restaurant offers a view. Our only complaint is the street noise is very loud even on the 8th floor. Take earplugs. The area outside the front door is a bit sketchy, but we never felt unsafe, even returning late. We will stay here again.
Okay, area around hotel is full of ‘interesting’ characters to say the least. However, it is convenient to get around from and despite having to cross the road several times to avoid characters we didn’t actually have any trouble from anyone. Hotel itself and big and busy but very efficient. Breakfast was good, nice selection although self serve coffee would be better than waiting for staff member to notice you. Rooms clean and bright and microwave/fridge provided. Overall an enjoyable stay
Very pleasant stay. Staff were super helpful and really couldn't have done more to help.
Rooms were a good size, clean and comfortable. We had a problem with the heating that once reported was sorted out straight away could not fault the service.
Breakfast was nice with a good variety. The waiter was really friendly and got NY son some decaff coffee which was appreciated.
Good location as was very close to lots of attractions could walk to so many things and felt safe as a family walking around.
Great hotel, breakfast in the morning was a plus. Nice facility, nice employees. James and Amy were very friendly faces. Luggage storage if you arrive early. Microwave and refrigerator in the room. Location is right around the corner from Reading Market which has a lot of great eateries.
Our longtime reservation at an apt on Booking.com was a scam so we had to rebook at the last minute and ended up here ($209/nt, including breakfast). We flew in and rode the train ($13.50 for 2!). Hopped off at Jefferson Station and right there we were. The King room was fine with a comfy bed but we were cold at night as the covers were skimpy. Housekeeping was good except they haven’t deep-cleaned the carpets in years—my white socks were black on the soles. Breakfast was just OK. Go somewhere else if you don’t get it comped. Parking next door is $45/nt so we used the garage at the Fashion District a couple of blocks away for an average of $26/nt. Hotel is a 10-minute walk to the Visitor’s Center and Old Town; next door to Reading Market. We determined that “Sketchy” neighborhood characters were generally just harmless regulars. Great location but we still walked +20K daily steps—mid-sixties so you can do it, too!
The hotel is a very nice, safe and enjoyable place to stay, for the price of the stay, it is worth every penny. The staff are well mannered and respectful. I must also mention Amy was a lovely person to talk to and if you decide to start here, make sure to look out for her!
