Hilton Garden Inn Lynchburg - Featured Reviews (808)
HGI hotels used to be better, but it seems the whole brand is having issues, based on my latest experiences. The fitness room at this hotel has a major mold problem on the wall next to the pool. When you go in there's a strong mildew smell, the TV and the water cooler don't work.
I paid in advance for breakfast and one morning I was told they had a very limited menu for breakfast. Same for one night at dinner. It was interesting, and a first for me, seeing the bartender running between the bar and making meals in the kitchen. Room prices keep going up, but the quality of the service is going down at HGI hotels.
Workers were friendly and great. Smelled like mold! My room as well smelled "wet/mildewy" and I stayed there for 3 days. I just had to go to target and grab 3 bottles of air freshners. Rooms need to be regulated as well, I entered the room and it was 77 degrees. I really was considering moving hotels, but since I wasn't going to be there much long I decided to stay. I really hope this gets fixed and great attention to.
The rooms are pretty nice. The sleeper sofa has a nice 4" foam mattress so it's pretty comfy (for a sleeper).
The fitness room was a little dirty, the ac didn't work, smelled musty. Neither treadmill worked, pretty bare bones.
Breakfast, had 2 eggs cooked to order. They were decent and reasonably priced at $11.
Service in dining room and front desk were helpful and courteous.
I’ve stayed here often when visiting Lynchburg and it had always been a great hotel, but there were some real management and staffing issues during my last visit. It didn’t meet the Hilton standard. First, I checked in online and said I would arrive at 4 pm. I arrived at 4:30 but had to wait another hour because the cleaning crew was short staffed. The lobby was hot due to broken A/C so it wasn’t a comfortable wait. Second, the room, hallways, and elevator had plenty of wear and tear damage. Third, the breakfast options have changed for the worse. The $10 continental breakfast was almost entirely composed of prepackaged foods and the dining room had only one server, making it much worse than the free breakfast at a Hampton Inn. In the future, I would recommend staying at one of the other hotels in town.
We got there around 8 pm, and as soon as we walked in, we noticed it was HOT. It was probably 78-80 inside the hotel. There were 3 people in front of me. It took 20 mins to check in. Myself, my wife and my 5yr old were given a room so naturally we go grab all of our bags, we got to our room (5th floor) and neither key card would open the door, so back to the front desk... apparently, that room needed a special key according to the receptionist. So they gave me a new room and 1 free continental breakfast (normally $9) so I go back to the 5th floor and get my wife and kid and go find our new room, again the whole hotel is HOT.
It was frustrating, why not just give me the correct key, or give me 3 free breakfasts so that I still didn't have to pay for 2.
Definitely wouldn't recommend
Everyone at this property, literally everyone, was genuinely kind, in a good mood and happy to help. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was good, snacks and drinks were refreshingly affordable. Truly one of the best hotel stays we have experienced. Great pick for a pet friendly hotel.
We had a nice stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lynchburg. The staff was great and the rooms were clean. The building could use some updates, pool area especially. The breakfast was with a voucher and waiter, not the typical hotel buffet style. The hotel is very close to liberty university.
I was welcomed by our front desk as a Hilton Honors Diamond member the front desk girls name was Tenaeja! She was a lovely person with a friendly smile and she upgraded me to one of the finest suites. She then sent me a text and asked me how my room was and I told her it was beautiful. I appreciate the follow up it makes you feel when you’re traveling away from home that people actually care about you. Thank you so much, if you are in the Lynchburg area, Nieder place to stay Hilton Garden Inn on wards Road is amazing
This has been the best experience at a hotel Iâve ever had. Everything was perfect! The rooms were beautiful with huge windows, tall ceilings with wood beams. Very clean, comfortable and modern. I absolutely loved the shoebox breakfast concept. I h
