Hilton Garden Inn Dana Point Doheny Beach - Featured Reviews (1131)
We stayed there during renovations the hotel was nice and still pretty quiet for what seemed to be a full hotel. It was nice getaway with family. Breakfast was really good, what made it better was our server Erin. She went above and beyond to distract my little ones while we were eating. She’d come by and always ask if we needed anything or just to chat with my kiddos. It was awesome. She made our entire trip.
Aside from the beautiful setting, location and stunning new renovation, the staff at this hotel is amazing. |I have been sending groups of guests there that attend a nearby events venue and have a 10 out of 10 review each time. As a travel professional I can’t say enough about the attentive and professional sales managers. This beautiful property and destination is ideal for a social gathering, midweek business meeting and weekend getaway! I would highly recommend checking it out.
We had a great time at this hotel. The rooms, the lobby and other areas are updated, upgraded and fresh. There is a roof top bar as well as another outdoor roof top hang out area. Our room had a balcony where we enjoyed coffee in the AM (and cocktails in the PM) while watching the surf and surfers across the way at Doheny Beach. Just outside the hotel main entrance is a walkway to Doheny Beach. No car needed - the beach is a walk away. It is delightful beach with an old adobe archway (1936) to a serene lagoon and a famous surf spot.
I had a great time on the rooftop, Randi was a great bartender. She made excellent drinks. The view was amazing on the rooftop & we would come back for the rooftop, and her service!!! I love how close the beach is to the hotel, & the rooms were very comfortable and spacious!
Randi and Jack at the rooftop bar were awesome. Super engaging and attentive. Saved my business for future stays. Wasn’t sold on coming back, but if they are working I would definitely recommend. They hustled, checked in frequently and created a fun atmosphere that had multiple guests conversing. Well done Randi and Jack!
Randi had a great personality and a wonderful smile. I enjoyed the longboard rooftop bar with my family. She made excellent drinks and made as fuel at home. The remodel of the property is great, and her service and the bar rooftop will keep us coming back for more.
The location of this hotel was beautiful. However, the upkeep of it, was the opposite. When I arrived to my room, I noticed a large spider on the balcony and after using the restroom the toilet lever would not properly flush. I let the front desk know, and grabbed dinner. I returned to my room, and got ready for a good nights sleep. Before showering, I found a hair in the shower against the wall. After washing my face, I grabbed a towel that didn’t smell clean. It took awhile to fall asleep and the walls were paper thin, I could hear the person next door’s tv. The next morning I wake up to take a picture and video of the balcony and find the same size (large) spider outside the balcony, right above the sliding door in the top right corner. The room was nice, but I wish there was better walls, fresh towels, a clean bathroom that worked properly, and no spiders on the balcony.
Rooms - The rooms have ants wrong; we didn’t have food in our room or anything, and I have pictures to show Service - is horrible, very unprofessional Location - is ok with the view I had This was the worst experience of a Hilton property I have ever experienced. The only person who seemed to care was Walter; we had two housekeepers walk into my room while we were naked. They don’t knock or announce themselves at all. They scan the key and walk in. The first housekeeper just held the door open while I was undressed. I’m yelling mam, please close the door. I don’t have any clothes. Go to the front desk and report it to Walter. He said the housekeeping manager would reach out to me Monday @ 5:37 pm. Another housekeeper attempted to walk in while getting dressed to go to dinner. Now I was angry, so I went to ask her what her reason was and came into the room. She couldn’t answer me; she kept apologizing, so I returned and reported to Walter again. He gave a comp of $102, which is unacceptable and disrespectful, a pure slap in the face. On Tuesday, while checking, I checked out at 8 a.m. and spoke with a manager at the front desk. She called the housekeeping manager to come, but she never did. She had me write my number down, and nobody ever contacted me. She even went on to say we gave you $102. What more do you want might wanna monitor the housekeeping team. They have a scam going on. Remember that the critical log shows all rooms have been cleaned, and when keys were used to top it off, they didn’t say anything about how they would have construction. When I checked out, I wasn’t asked how my stay was. Just ask how I would like my receipt

Such a wonderful park and beach! It seems to be quieter than others in the area and has a nice big (free) parking lot at the entrance. There are washrooms and a rinse off station in the parking lot and a couple of different access points to the beach
Great place for the family. Walk along the marina, have lunch or ice cream! You can go kayaking, stand up paddle boarding or whale watching! Visit the Ocean Institute, learn about the tall ships docked at the learning center. Or just watch the waves
Great place for a walk with some areas for viewing the ocean side. The walking trail at this park is a switchback and very relaxing. The grass areas are a slope but can be walked on for some serious decline/incline workout. I saw some people being th
