I am writing this at 1230 AM on a Friday night because loud noise (from surrounding businesses and what sounds like drag racing) are keeping me from being able to sleep, despite sleeping pills and ear plugs. When you are exhausted from travel and just want to sleep, that is the opposite of what you want to be greeted by at your hotel.
The room itself is fine, with some worn areas and our room has random painters tape on the window I cannot explain. When checking in on the app, you can select for parking and have it added to your mobile key, but the parking lot entrance gate has no way to activate that and you have to visit the front desk (which is only indicated by a sign in the lobby).
But my primary frustration is the location which is terrible for noise. If I could check out early without being charged my second night, I would do so, if only to be able to actually sleep. Will not stay here again when I return to Colorado Springs next month.
Lady at front counter talked down to my wife and I from the moment we came to check in. Very rude.
When our friends got to the lobby she basically accused them of stealing water from her little shelf. They brought their own water. And it was ice cold dripping on the counter in front of her. The water she had was on a shelf room temperature. So sad that she’s aloud to run this hotel and treat paying customers like we are less than her and stealing from the hotel we just paid 300.00 to stay in for one night. I WILL NEVER SHADOW THE DOORS OF THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!
We have loyally stayed at Hilton hotels from coast to coast and have a Hilton honors credit card. I won’t condemn the entire company for her deliberate use of power in her position.
I will however urge you not to reward this location.
Also there was no hot water in the showers the morning after when we left but I was not as aggravated about that as it may not be as intentional as her deliberate attitude towards myself, my wife and my friends. NEVER AGAIN.
The real rating is good, trip advisor left me between average and very good. High rating to the staff, very friendly & helpful. Room was okay, the bed was hard (not unusual for me and most hotel beds). Liked the shower. Good wi/fi. They charge extra to park, which was not clear when I reserved the room, Access to parking was not easy since the parking garage is not part of the hotel. Street noise was high, suggest you get room not facing the street.
The room was clean, however there was a used soap left in the shower. Paying $15 per night for parking is ridiculous. Getting to/from the garage to the hotel is not convenient and it's not like it's safe as anyone can just walk in. They charge for coffee; I've been to plenty of Hilton's where they offer complimentary coffee for their guests. Location is okay as it's close to downtown and restaurants, but there were questionable people hanging around in the front. The front desk person and bartender were very nice and friendly. Overall, I don't think we'll stay here again.
Watch your receipt. Especially if you’re tax exempt. They will charge your card without taxes and turn around and charge your card for nothing but the taxes. Food is not good. If you have to stay here. Just go out and find a place to eat. Also, trash service. They lied about the tax exemption and did not explain anything until I called 4 times and had Hilton customer service call twice. *** Their response came after they tried to cover up the fact I was informed different on the taxes and the charged me with no explanation. Stand on business Mr. Valdez! Be honest. No one said you made the rules.
Room floor carpet has stains all over it and a grimy feeling to it when walking on it barefoot. Found leftover trash in the room. Requested and paid for a mountain view room and though you can see the mountains there is a big building blocking most of the view.
Not accessibility-friendly.
The accessible rooms are the ones with view on a wall or an AC unit, or both. Looks like they have two elevators, but only one is working, be ready to wait. The parking is not accessible - you'll have to roll your wheelchair up and down the car ramp.
Thankfully the staff was nice, but there's only so much they can do.
Room was okay. Shower fixtures were loose, which in an accessible room just seems dangerous. But it was clean and comfortable. Apparently, they charge you for parking even when you don't park anything. My group had a vehicle, but it seems fraudulent to charge multiple people for one vehicle.
