The room was very nice. It's more like staying at a friend's house than a busy resort. Fairly quiet, and not too far from town. They have a good kitchen setup so you can make a meal if you prefer. Only saw the person living there a few times in the 2 weeks I was there, but he was friendly and nice. I would definitely stay here again as it's a great value and a peaceful place.
The place seems organized well and looks tidy, but our room smell so bad and the carpet is unbelievably filthy. I even put my mask on while I was sleeping. The room has a small bed for 2 adults and NO private bathroom. Next day we moved to another Hotel, where is about 3 miles away from this place, which is just about to the same price with this Hilo vacation place, has beautiful gardens and big size of swimming pool, and the room has 2 beds and private bathroom, and FRESH smell and so modern and upgraded. Don't waist your money, you can find a lot better places around this guest house with same or less money.
I really enjoyed the stay. The rental is well maintained, clean, and airy. This would be a great place to reserve for a group trip. There are plenty of rooms, each with their own coded lock, a couple of full bathrooms, and a kitchen with two sinks. There is premium cable and WiFi. I wasn't a fan of the watered down hand soap, but overall a wonderful place.
We were booked here for one night, in Room 3, on 21st April 2022. The room was joined to the communal bathroom by a locked door. Therefore, we could hear EVERYTHING. The bedroom was small, basic and in desperate need of refurbishment. There were multiple black insects seen crawling on the bed and floor. We were so disappointed we actually left and booked a room at the Hilton. We paid 170 USD for one night, which, to be honest, is taking the piss.
I would go back. Great for a family vacation. Love the keyless entry. Adore the felines in residence. But, could be better maintained. I actually purchased a shower curtain to replace the moldy one in the shared bathroom. The refrigerator seals could stand to be replaced as well....mold. This is no reflection on the property, another guest took my soap from the shared bathroom. Disheartening. Just felt the need to post to remind others, if it's not yours don't take it. Just rude.
Stayed there for one night and will not stay there a second time.
There’s a very high humidity which makes you sweat immediately when moving a little bit and which will makes your clothes more wet than dry.
Also the bed was not smelly really fresh unseated it feel really disgusting laying inside.
The most annoying thing is, that it’s direct to the Main Street, so I hear very single vehicle which was passing by.
If you’re looking for a comfortable night, choose a different place!
This place could be really nice with a few updates. However, the bedroom carpet is very stained and the fridge is full of rust which leaks rust all over the floor. That could be overlooked if I hadn't noticed mouse and cockroach droppings in several places.
Clean and comfy. The gutter on the front porch is broken, during heavy rain it can splash inside a bit. The garage is large, it has a washer and dryer. Inside and outside restrooms. There is a smaller garage extension although the height of this area is not for folks above 6ft tall.
