We were given a bottom floor non view room. It had a view of a lovely hibiscus bush but behind was a large apartment building/parking lot.
Plus= comfortable clean bed, bedding and linens. Towels smelled fresh. Very quiet at night. Room was clean and tidy. No bedbugs.
We were not afraid and walked all over and around to coconut island in the dark! No problems.
Minus=old, dated mossy building. 70s military barracks style. Price for our room was overpriced. I'd pay that for a better view.
Overall a decent place to sleep. No frills.
Great for workers, one nighters.
Positive: Beautiful view from the pool area. The security guard was nice. Negative: The room was not clean and even though I got picture they argued with me about it. The front desk receptionist was rude to me. I wanted to relax but instead I had a bad experience. The security guard was compassionate and kind. Negative: ""
Waterfront hotel which is a little on the older side, however, our room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. We had a beautiful view of Hilo Bay from our room. We would definitely stay here again.
Positive: The Location and the room view was just amazing. We had the ocean view room and it had bay view from 2 sides. The can use a little upgrade but the view on the bay and location is just out of the world. Negative: ""
Excellent location, Right on the water, It's a peaceful area surrounded by many gorgeous parks... The hotel itself is very old they should really take some of their earnings and revise it , It's owned by a semi-large Chinese family and then they take all the parking spots against the building and then the other parking spots are open to the guests, and then there's plenty of street parking, The rooms need the carpet to be cleaned or torn out and they should lay tile or wooden floors, They have a decent kitchen in the room with plenty of cupboards to put items if you're going to stay for a few months,,, The patios are roomy with chairs, The TV is very limited on the channels They should really offer Netflix but they don't, there's a decent size counter in the rooms built into the wall with two chairs which is helpful, They have a small lounge area with books and magazines on the main floor They also have a very nice orange kitty who lives at the hotel , and then there's plenty of kitties on the outside in case you want to go and feed them. I would definitely stay again at this hotel if I go back to Hilo. There's also two really nice hotels right in the same area.
Positive: Sits in old Hilo town right on the water. Quiet and peaceful. Even though it¿s dated and old it reminds me of days gone by how Hawaii used to be. I hope it never changes. Negative: The walk up the stairs made suitcases challenging but at the end of the day. I would come visit again! Negative: ""
Location is directly on the ocean which made it nice. No AC made it warm in the room. Older hotel but clean and pleasant.
Not fancy, but clean and a good place if you’re just looking for simple. The only thing that was curious to me is that they seem to have put the knob on the bathroom door backwards. The bathroom door locks from the outside.
Amazing service, and everything was spotless! Lau is an exceptional host, making everyone feel right at home, and it showed in the comfort and ease of connection between the guests. Great location. Walking distance to all the happenings downtown, but
We loved our stay here. The room was very clean and comfortable. The property is off the beaten path. I was a little concerned about the no A/C because I run hot, but I was completely fine with the fans. Loved the sound of the frogs at night. The ban
