So thankful we stayed here, got a completely different and intimate experience from our first half of our stay in Waikoloa. Our room was right off of the front porch so we had a nice area to sit and unwind before dinner each evening. Brian and his wife were great hosts, the breakfast was delicious each morning, the beds were comfy and falling asleep listening to the waves crash was so peaceful. The house is less than 5 minutes from downtown Hilo, which reminded me of a quaint suburb with lots of great restaurants and shops. Please note that there is some construction going on at the front of the house; they're making some additions that guests will love. You won't notice the construction as you'll be out exploring most of the day. Just wanted to mention it as it may confuse you upon arrival. Definitely recommend staying here if you're looking for a local, intimate experience that you definitely won't get at a major hotel.
Very nice early 1900's building. Not much to look at from the outside. But, don't be fooled. EXCELLENT service. Our room was small but very nicely decorated. Our room (Suite #6) had a private bathroom (it's likely all of their rooms have private bathrooms). Perfectly clean. The made-to-order breakfast was outstanding. We had a beautiful fruit plate, omelet, special macadamia nut pancakes, bacon, coffee and juice. WONDERFUL!!! Unfortunately, we had to catch an early morning flight and weren't able to enjoy a breakfast on our second (final) morning. The location of the property is literally right on the water. We listened to the waves breaking all night. They also have snacks, delicious local bananas and bottled water available 24/7. They also have beach towels, boogie boards, binoculars, etc. available for guests to use. They have literally got you covered for ANYTHING you need. Highly recommend!
Such a great host! Amazing old house restored beautifully. We feel much better staying here Vs a big resort. Lots of parking, amazing breakfasts. They did our laundry better than we do our own laundry 😂. Rooms are great. Very unique. Comfy bed. Lots of extra amenities for your use like umbrellas, sun screen bug spray.
Best view of the ocean front on big Island
Great food, classic interior, perfect accommodations. The best host ever had the pleasure of meeting.
A one of a kind experience,a must stay.
An amazing place to stay in Hilo! Our ocean view room literally overlooked the sea and waves below, I could have sat on the window seat in the room staring at the sea all day. A soothing sound to fall asleep to and wonderful view to wake up to. Our room was beautiful and hosts were lovely. They had a very thoughtful set of communal shelves with maps, tour leaflets, bug spray (a must for the botanical gardens!) and snacks to set you up for the day. Beautifully cooked breakfasts and we really appreciated our hostess taking the time to give a few recommendations in Hilo, the Friday night food market and botanical gardens were excellent! A wonderful stay overall, would highly recommend.
We had an awesome time at Hilo Oceanfront Bed & Breakfast. The accommodations are amazing. It’s an old 1920’s home with individual room all very unique. It’s on a cliff so you see and hear the waves all night. Beautiful and soothing sounds. The hosts are so kind and accommodating. And the breakfast is wonderful. It’s been a very long time since I’ve enjoyed a place quite like this. Kudos to the owners for having this place
So glad we stumbled across this B&B. Guest service, rooms, and breakfast were exactly as we imagined...old school is the best school! Will stay again absolutely!!
We loved this b&b! All the rooms were beautifully decorated; great atmosphere. Clean room, comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast, made to order (fruit, and your choice of macadamia nut pancakes, eggs, French toast, bacon etc) with a view of the sunrise. Friendly and accommodating staff /innkeepers. I’d highly recommend this as a place to stay while exploring the east side of the big island.

I was able to drop in while visiting town and had a great time. The staff, coaches, and training partners were friendly and welcoming, and the gym has a great atmosphere. Great place to train in Hilo.
You can experience some out of the world views from here (plan for the sunset). And its a great drive, even if you do not plan to visit the summit. Please do not miss this spot in the Big Island!

Very pretty and informative walking path through an area with diverse plant life and good birdwatching. Most of the hike is in a gated (not locked) enclosure to keep pests out. The entire walk is paved, and there is a small observation platform along
