I used Google maps to get there, and it took me to a section of the park that does not have a good parking lot. 🅿️ Some parts of the pathway are broken and should be fixed. This place is not busy. There were a few people walking and biking. 🚲 There are signs for a lot of animal preservation groups here.
Bigger than you'd think. Lots of back trails. I would recommend downloading AllTrails for navigation. Trail markers aren't vibrant colors and they can be hard to notice. Some trails get close to peoples' backyards which can be a bit awkward. Not really any sights, but some interesting history as well as deer sightings. We parked at the Community Center across from Cedar Grove Park. You can access Hilltop Reservation by crossing the street and walking through Cedar Grove Park.
Great place to take a walk, about 2 miles for a round, ups and downs, straight and curved, grassy and forestry, you can see dear wandering on grass eating sometimes, peaceful and calmly.
Nice trails. Parking isn’t great. The sanitarium history is super cool.
Lovely place with views to take an extended walk. The landscape is a mix of natural forest and institutional remnants. The interpretive signs really help orient and explain what's happening. It is very lucky that this large an open space was preserved for the public. I'd like to see more restoration of native forest. Good opportunity for carbon sequestration.
Excellent birding spot. Spooky former sanitorium location. Great for walking and you could even push a stroller.
Beautiful park for mountain biking . I rode here for over 3 hrs. It has connections to Cedar Grove as well as other trails. Each trail has multiple features and rock gardens throughout. Also many skinny bridges are built to try out. Would definitely come back
One of our favorite places to have a quick hike with the family

This place has the best spicy Korean pork bowl in the area. It's about $16, but it's really solid. I often get mine without the assortment of vegetables (radish, brussel sprouts, etc) since I prefer just lettuce and carrots. The fried chicken is als
