This is one of my absolute top favorite places to get food, even when their cafe is closed, they have something to serve everyone. Last week I got their potato soup and jalapeno cornbread, this week I got their chicken noodle soup and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. With a brown sugar pecan meringue for dessert. The store keepers are so friendly and helpful, and keep the store so tidy!
This place is also a market that offers literally everything from jams to gardening seeds, ALL their food is HOMEMADE, and it is all fresh and delicious. I highly recommend this place. An absolute must visit!!!
Nice little jewel at a farmers market type store. Catfish nuggets perfectly seasoned and cooked. Hamburger steak needed some seasoning, but otherwise, it was very good. Sides were pretty good - mac&cheese a little dry but tasted good; Grits & greens casserole VERY good; Butter beans and corn on the cob very good; Hushpuppies very good. Peach fried pie - perfect!
Had an awesome experience here! Found some beautiful ferns, marigolds and vegetable plants! Was given great advice on how to care for the plants I bought and ideas on how to best tackle my vegetable garden!
First time at HillTop in Argo. Wow this place has it all! The southern comfort food reminds me of how momma always made it! Friends if you get a chance stop by and don’t forget to go by the market for all your canned produce or desserts.
my wife ate there one time and liked it so based on that I took her there today for lunch....worse place I have ever been and at 76 been to a few....serve from 11 to 2...we got there at 12:30...ordered a meat and 2...out of the meat and one of the veggies so had to re-select....noticed the pinto beans were in a cup and they were doing that to all veggies...hate cups and emptied on to plate....bad move all juice...my wife said whats wrong and I said the reason for the ladle with no drain holes and cup is to psych you into thinking you get a decent serving but pour it out and ya get a joke of a serving....price for what ya get is a joke and to top it off when we were leaving my wife said look and behold the meat and veggie I had asked for was back on the buffet like,,,,GOODBYE!!!!!
First visit but servers walked by our table many times, served everyone that was seated after us. Finally came with menus and asked for drink order but never returned with drinks and kept revisiting other tables. Food may be good but we didn’t get the opportunity to try as we left frustrated.
If you want great home cooking at a great price, check this place out. A great place to get a meat and veggies. Come by and see Mrs. Pearl. The service was exception as well.
