We ate there twice. They take reservations and I recommend it on the first Friday of the month. That is prime rib night. Unfortunately they didn't get their delivery so I did the ribeye and shrimp. It was good but steak needed more seasoning. I like their sides. So much food I didn't have room for desert.

I love this place. Served family style and great food. I've been here a few times and heard the place just changed hands, but it seems to be consistent. Never had a bad meal here. Highly recommend.

Drove by the sign on our way to the Owen County Fairgrounds. We were earlier than planned so we stopped in for dinner. It was a great experience! Our server, Ms. Sue was the sweetest! The fried chicken was amazing. The whole meal reminded me of the meals I had after church on Sundays back home (Middlesboro, KY). If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and stop in!! You won’t be sorry.

We’ve been to Hilltop many times and always had chicken or fish but tonight I decided to get coconut shrimp and it was absolutely the best I’ve ever had! I think our server Emily - a wonderful server!! - said they hand-bread the coconut shrimp! Wow! Hilltop never disappoints! 👍🏼

I worked here in the late 90's and ate there again after all these years. Though ownership has changed hands, the food, service, and setting is the same of not better. You'll get more did than you can eat. Their signature ribeye is outstanding and the fried chicken is terrific. You really can't go wrong. The setting is scenic and relaxing. This truly is a treasure of Owen County and a highlight of Spencer!

It has changed. The atmosphere is not as cozy. The food was good, but if you ate here before they changed hands, you will taste some difference and it isn't better. If you've never tried it, you ahold give it a try because it is still a good restaurant for those who have never been.

Came here a few months ago and had the most delicious meal. Basic $4 cheeseburger was big and juicy. Big order of onion rings. We had a great lunch and couldn't wait to come back. Stopped in today and was very disappointed. $8 Bacon double cheeseburger was tiny and sad. 5 onion rings in the order. The old lady flung our order out the window without saying a word and walked away. Asked for ketchup for our food, got 4 packets. Don't know what happened but won't be coming back. I can get this caliber of food from a drive thru.

Jenny, the server was awesome!!! Prime Rib cook just right and tender. We were visiting from out of town. We went with family and now they will become regulars. They liked it that much.
