Such a gorgeous view and staff is so incredibly sweet. My kids (2 and 9) loved it there. They really enjoyed the pool, the swings and the little toddler slide. Our dog loves it too because there is such a nice outdoor area for her to walk in. Very clean room with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker that we made good use of. There were also grills available and picnic tables.
Bed were fine and we slept well. My only complaint would be that the coffee was only fair so bring your own if you love coffee like we do.
Overall wonder stay and we would love to come back!
If I could give this place more than five stars I would. The location is beautiful and the property is well maintained. I appreciated being able to enjoy sitting on the porch outside of my room and still be able to see my children wonder the property. The room was small but clean and the beds were comfortable. The pool and swings were perfect for the kids. The firepit area is also great! They have picnic tables in the shade and grills available. I hope to return again! I would highly recommend for those with children and even for those who are looking for some peace to relax.
We arrived yesterday and checked in. The staff was very friendly and helpful with questions about the area. The room was clean, plenty of towels and parking. The wood paneling is very clean, and the new door frame looks good and feels secure. This is a very good location in the mountains. Yes, we would come back again.
Great location for all things Luray. The staff are super friendly. The rooms are large for the price. The place is a little old but well maintained. For what we paid for it, I think it's a great deal! We will probably stay here next year if it's available when we go tubing again.
Just the place for on/off the Skyline! Dated, but CLEAN. Beds comfy. The front porch overlooking the mountains in its fall glory-priceless. The perfect country stay! Staff friendly. I prefer to support the small business and this one was worthy! Thank you.
Room 18. NO COLD WATER. The cold faucet was hot (too hot to use alone), and the hot was SCALDING. Owner isn't answering calls and the office is offering $5 cash for our troubles. Turns out it's also a known issue but they rent this room anyway. Oh, and the bed was also terrible. If they attempt to change for this experience, I'll count on my credit card company to reverse the charges.
Edit after visit with owner:
Wow. I was asked why I didn't just go home rather than staying after discovering a lack of usable water at 9pm in an area with no vacancies. I was then asked if the water was really THAT hot, since someone had just stayed 3 days w/o complaint. (They also denied awareness of the issue, despite the office lady telling my husband moments earlier that others had complained, and that she had told the owners they would probably need to dig under the room to fix the problem. She began denying/changing that story when the owner appeared.) I invited the owner to go with me to the room to see for herself. She proceeded to stand with her hand under the hot water coming from the cold tap, saying that everyone is different and has different tolerance for hot water... As though I'm a spoiled princess for expecting to shower in water that's not uncomfortably hot. Truly unbelievable. I've stayed in lots of places. Some great, some not so great. This takes 1st prize for the absolute worst. One star is too many, but zero isn't an option.
The customer service is great!💯 We enjoyed our stay at Hillside, it is indeed on the side of quite a big 'hill', aka mountain. The rooms are definitely dated but we found ours clean. Also their Wifi wasn't the strongest depending where you were, but the price is great!
The place is dated and probably doesn’t look much different than it did in 1980. This isn’t a brand new hotel with all of the amenities. However, it is clean, doesn’t smell like an old motel, beds are comfy and the staff is friendly. What more do you need?
Stayed here for a wedding up in Luray. The rooms were clean and they even gave us real keys. They also have discounts on local tourist spots. The balcony was very pretty. Great spot as luray caverns is right across the street.
Out of all of the pullout areas along the road in Shenandoah Park, this is a must-see stop. Breathtakingly beautiful. We counted over 7 or 8 different butterflies feeding on the wildflowers. It was magical feeling the cool air from the valley on this
Absolutely beautiful!! We really enjoyed the self guided tour. It's definitely worth the trip!! We visited from Michigan over New Years weekend. It wasn't terribly busy. We spent a few hours there between the caves, village, and museums. The ticket p
We stop at the garden maze with our pets EVERY road trip 5 times a year on way back. So fun! Clean, easy on and off, Great Gas prices!!! Plenty to do! We still haven't done the zip line, kids will be big enough next year!! Wahoo! I love this place!
My kids and I felt like we were on another planet. The sky was so beautiful, the water was crystal blue. The air was fresh and clean, put this place on your list of places to visit, I promise it won't disappoint!
We had an absolutely delightful experience during our recent weekend stay at Hotel Laurance. From the ample parking availability to the seamless self-check-in process, everything was exceptionally convenient. The room surpassed our expectations, boas
Museum is a lot smaller than I thought it would be , but it's FREE. Can't beat the price ! They have live music on the weekends including Gospel Bluegrass. The staff is friendly and helpful..Video and photos are allowed and encouraged. The merchandis
Terrific dinner. Duck empanadas were crunchy perfect with noticeable duck flavor and savory sauce filling, interesting note from the duck (?) sauce. Bistro filet was perfectly executed, unbelievably tender, with the most airy whipped potato accompani
We went to this restaurant for dinner last night and ended up splitting an antipasto and a small pizza called The Works. Both were tasty. A gentleman next to us had the Garlic Knots and he was overwhelmed by the size of the portion, so he âforcedâ
