This is a must visit restaurant! The view is spectacular. Live music added to the ambiance. The BBQ shrimp skewers were a great appetizer. The snow crab was prepared to perfection. The scallops au gratin were very good in the Romano cream sauce. Save room for dessert. The apple crisp or chocolate peanut butter pie are both excellent. This place exceeded expectation and has a great history. Owner was a delight to talk to. The fact he comes out and visits with the patrons speaks volumes.
A couple months ago, I attended a local community event hosted here. I’ve lived in the area for several years and that was my first time there. Tonight, for our anniversary, I knew we had to go back. Mike and his team did an amazing job taking care of us. The outside view was beautiful and sunny, the music/entertainment was good, and the food & service was excellent! I highly recommend this restaurant - the grilled buffalo wings & bread pudding bites were my favorite!!!
The Hilltop Inn is a restaurant. There simply aren't too many decent restaurants in the twin tiers area between Binghamton and Corning. This is one of the few good ones and the view is fantastic. It is spotlessly clean and the food is reliably good and so are the drinks. I think the wine menu could be better - it features local Finger Lakes wines but they could do a much better selection of those from some of the higher quality wineries. Worth the trip, but a little pricey. It's refreshing to see so many young, clean cut people working there. Sometimes the service is a little slow on busy nights, but it's acceptable if you anticipate it.
This is a hidden gem!
Not a hotel, but a great restaurant.
Unbelievable views, amazing setting, excellent dishes, fantastic service. One of very few places around offering outdoor dining. Highly recommended, dine watching the great sunset.
This is a restaurant (not a hotel), and has, arguably, the best views around. Scenic vista of the town and surrounding hills that make it perfect for date night or a celebration. The dinner entrees are just okay...not terrible by any stretch, but just needs to be kicked up a notch. French onion soup was one of the better versions we've ever had, and is a must every time we go. Lovely touch that the owner personally checks on everyone and ensures you have what you need to enjoy your meal. He is a nice guy. The staff tends to be on the younger side but they work hard and mostly get it right.
The location is amazing! Great views and good atmosphere. The food and drinks, however, were definitely lacking. As the locals later told me, this is where you go for the view and not the food. My Seared Tuna was not a good cut. It was very stringy, and about half of it was not edible. I let the waitress know.
Then, I tried the apple crisp for dessert, but it was very dry. It should have had a sauce on it per the menu. However, the waitress told me that it didn't have a sauce. If the food and service improved, this would be the go-to place of the valley.
GOOGLE: FIX THIS LISTING. IT'S A RESTAURANT, NOT A HOTEL!
We've been enjoying the Hill Top Inn for decades - going back to our honeymoon, and anniversaries. This is my all-time favorite restaurant anywhere. Any time we're in the area we have to have dinner there. We've driven out of our way just to have dinner there. Every meal has been incredible. Their seafood, steaks, everything has been excellent, and perfectly prepared every time. We've had better seafood dishes here than at shore towns. Beef ... the flavor, tenderness ... exquisite. Service always has been great.
Recommendations: Anything with scallops, raw oysters, fish, steaks. Pay the extra charge for the scalloped potatoes.
Sit outside! The covered patio is overcome only by stormy conditions. The fire pits keep it nice even through Spring and Fall. The view of Elmira and the river below is not to be missed.
We just visited them again this week. It's admirable that they've sustained their level of quality all this time. We have many great memories from past visits and are looking forward to many more. I can't recommend them highly enough to you.
Went to Hilltop for Mother's Day and it was amazing! All you can eat buffet for the special event. I am so glad we RSVP'ed prior to showing up because the place was packed! Line out the door. But I can see why though, because the buffet they had out was nothing less than glorious! I ate 2 prime rid, some pasta, salmon, and yummy desserts! Totally worth to go when having a buffet! I've been there during normal dining, not bad at all. But, the buffet was perfect! Sorry for everyone my party and I cut in line, but we had a 2pm RSVP. Which everyone should try to do! 10/10! Oh, and the service was chatty, friendly, and active! Good job everyone!
So impressed with this hidden gem. I had no idea this place was a restaurant for the first 3 years living here. Now I visit weekly. The fettuccine Alfredo and harvest salad are 10/10. My go to favorites.
Made it to Elmira on a return trip from the Finger Lakes. This University campus is gorgeous and full of beautiful old buildings. This was not the original home for the study but has become its final resting place. It wasn't open the day we visited b
Yooooo! If you live or work or occasionally visit Elmira you need to check out this place. Lucky 7 Deli on the corner of Walnut & Washington (used to be a Byrne Dairy).
They make all kinds of things but it's a Mediterranean/Middle East style kitchen
Takes a lot to impress me. Food and service were excellent. This was a first and definitely not our last time! Prices are good, too! I recommend getting their cinnamon toast, so yummy!ð
Awesome store always love coming here. Awesome place to bring someone. So many animals to look at. They have birds, fresh and saltwater fish, bunnies, chinchillas, hamsters, ferrets, ginni pigs, mice, shrimp, and even living coral decor for your fish
Barista was lovely and suggested my drink (an iced cinnamon bun latte) and it did NOT disappoint! I absolutely loved it 𥰠Plenty of seating around the cafe and street parking down the block! Overall really nice atmosphere and I hope to back again!
