Highland Inn - Hotel in Gonzales - 1740 Louisiana 30 W, USA

My husband stayed here bc of work. He was supposed to be working over there for a week, so paid for a week. However, after 3 nights the job was done. He was working nights and wasn’t notified that the job was done til around 12:30pm. He checked out by 1:30pm, and knew that day would be charged. He asked about getting a refund for the remainder days that were paid for but not going to be used and the lady refused to refund him. So they kept 3 days. What awful management. Hope they’re glad that they stole our money. Won’t be back.

Criminal. Stole a whole day extra from me. Charged me almost twice the price after 7 days . Also had some things stolen from me while away from room. Don’t recommend to anyone . Disappointed and discussed

Positive: Location is great! Very close to my job. Negative: It smelled weird, & I had a lot of trouble with my door not opening. The guy said it was because they recently painted, but I literally could not open it by myself. I had to go get help all the time. I also didn¿t have a drain plug in my bathroom. Negative: ""

I really enjoyed my stay real quiet and peaceful nice workers at front desk and other workers I will be back again.

I stayed in room 107 and all I can say is that was the most roach infested room I’ve ever stayed in my life. I mean I woke up in the middle of the night with a roach crawling straight toward me it was a terrible experience! They swapped me out to a handicapped room which was much cleaner and no roaches but overall I would recommend this hotel.

**NOT SAFE** I hope to God this review reaches someone before they book a room at this hotel!! I stayed here one night and encountered the following the front lobby is permanently closed you can't access it you must check in and out in a small window area and ring a doorbell until somebody decides to come answer it, when walking in my room there was a gagging smell of mildew and mold, the phone in my room was disconnected and did not work so if you need to call the front desk you will have to use your personal cell phone and good luck on them answering it, multiple cigarette burns in the comforter bedding, large white stains in the carpet on the floor, a uncountable amount of disgusting stains everywhere floor/walls/bedding, you pay for 1 TV channel literally 1 TV channel is all you get, WIFI doesn't work, I was blow drying my hair after my shower and a breaker blew so I had no electricity in half of my room including the AC it was 90 degrees that day when I used my cell phone to call the front lobby when they finally answered the lady stated it wasn't the hotel's fault that they were working on it. I couldn't sleep because I was so uncomfortable because it had got so hot in my room. It was 5 hours later in the middle of the night that it was finally fixed and the AC came back on, serious property damage in my room see photos, after getting out of the shower I seen something behind the toilet when I looked I discovered a used needle syringe!!!!! When I checked out the next morning I told a male employee that I had found a used needle syringe behind the toilet in my room and his response was 'okay'. I seriously couldn't make this up. This is absolutely the most disgusting and reckless hotel I've ever stayed at if you have a family or small children and are thinking about booking a room here for the love of God don't. Just don't. You're welcome.

I brought me and my family here because it was convenient for our vacation/business but after about a week I found out that this place is infested with bedbugs. They would not return my deposit or refund me period . The people of this place do not care about their customers. They are hateful to you . Plus they have one ice machine for the whole hotel and it’s out of order. Also the cradle they provide for breakfast had a roach in it !!
