High Point Restaurant - Fine dining restaurant in Monteagle - 224 Main St, USA

We went to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and we absolutely loved the place. The food though pricey is worth the cost. Big portions and outstanding flavor. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because unfortunately our server was not in a good mood. She was good at keeping our water glasses full and asking us if everything was to our liking but she never smiled once and acted like she didn't want to be there. I even told her we were there for my boyfriends birthday and she didn't say anything like she simply could've cared less. I still highly recommend this restaurant and hopefully you will have better luck with your server.

Great atmosphere, historic Al Capone coolness factor, wonderful staff, and kudos to a very knowledgeable chef! The seating is in close quarters, so I wouldn't suggest it as a place to have a deep or private conversation, but overall it was an awesome experience. The ladies room is like walking back in time!

A historic and unique place to have a fine meal. Service was amazing and the food was phenomenal. It's the little details in the presentation and attentiveness that make this place a must try. And a must return! Not pictured but the chocolate lava cake was exceptional!

This was like turning a page back in time to think about Al Capon. He had walked the same floors, climbing the same stairs and gazing out the same windows..... possibly eating and drinking in the very spot. Ok, now for the food! I started with lobster bisque soup and loved it. I then had the Filet Mignon and lobster with succotash and a soft split top roll. The Filet was amazing and so tender with loads of flavor and garlic butter. The lobster was a bit tough on the thin end, but the thick end was perfectly cooked. The succotash had such a good taste that I finished it before I started on my steak and lobster. The service was good! I recommend visiting this place. They offer some really nice dishes! Well it was so good my family came and ate with me. The chicken...any of it was fabulous. I wasn't as impressed with the flavor of the asparagus, but they were so tender. My most favorite was the grilled pound cake. OMG!!!

Service was wonderful. Tonight we tried the following; 1. Fried Green Tomatoes - the boursin pimento cheese spread is yummy, the tomatoes were nice and firm and thickly cut. 2. Slab of Bacon - no crispness to this dish, it's more of a moist pork belly style dish with yummy purple cabbage sauerkraut, the balsamic reduction was overly used and ruined the dish with saltiness. 3. Oyster Rockerfeller- although the oysters were a decent size the accompanying ingredients left the dish lacking flavor somehow - very disappointing 4. Lobster Bisque - NOT 1 sliver of lobster meat in the whole 2 bowls of soup, the chef clearly uses a lobster shell broth to give the essence of lobster to dish but it was over powered by the cream, was hoping to at least have a smidgen of lobster meat inside the puff pasty triangle served inside soup - however that was a bust. it was empty! 5. The Blackberry Salad - in general a great salad with decent ingredients, only complaint was the blackberry vinaigrette was more like a paste than an actual smooth liquid like emulsion with very few blackberries. 6. The BLT Bibb was on point - absolutely no downside to this salad. 7. 2 Kids Filet Mignon with Truffle Fries - the filet was cooked to perfection. 8. 2 Ribeye Steaks - one with a loaded potato, the steak was cooked perfectly. - one with asparagus, the steak was overcooked, was sent back, waited about 20min for another, took one bite, since rest of group was done eating by the time i got it back. 9. Sazarac - okay, had a medicinal reminiscent aftertaste 10. Grilled Pound Cake - very good! 11. Chocolate Lava - very very sweet. wonderful for a true chocoholic! I could honestly say, been there done that, not worth the over hour drive from Nashville. Service was wonderful!

We discovered High Point about five years ago. Each time we go, we are more impressed than the last. The menu choices are extensive. Starting with an impressive list of appetizers and moving on to phenomenal salads, and a complete mix of entrées. Service is always first class. They treat you like a valued guest. We have never been disappointed.

My wife and I really enjoyed our date night here. It is very expensive so take some extra money but it's worth it. A+ on taste, presentation, portion size.... . Server was awesome too. Great experience

This is a great place that has some unique menu choices. The fried lobster tail had incredible flavor and was melt in your mouth tender. We're still talking about the pork belly appetizer a week later! Great atmosphere, great service, great food. Definitely a 10 out of 10.
