Nice views. The road is a bit steep and narrow. Also needed to drive through a private campground. Be respectful and drive slow. At the end of the road is a very small picnic area with a few tables and grills. The trail is very nice. I would suggest to have "All Trails" or some other guiding app since the trail was not marked well in a few spots.
The road at the very top when you're almost there has deep rivets so driving an SUV or truck would be your best bet. It's beautiful and worth it. Be careful of horses! The hike itself is very challenging, the trail includes rock scrambling at points (pic included)
A little difficult to find if your a non local, follow the gravel road past the campsite and up the hill. There's limited parking at the top. The hike itself was maybe a mile or so, not very long. It takes you around the tops and bottom of giant, mossy rocks. The trail is marked, but not very well. The path itself is mostly just a ditch dug out of the soil, with the occasional white diamond as a trial marker. There's plenty to explore and climb around, and the overlook itself is gorgeous.
The view is pretty nice, but the real beauty is the hiking. Unfortunately, the trails are a little hard to find and there aren't any maps. No restroom facilities either. There's no indication at the lookout that there are trails here, but if you backtrack from the parking area, you'll find a trail on your right, marked with a small sign with a hiking symbol. Following the narrow, low-traffic trail, you'll see impressive rock formations, giant boulders, crevices, and even a small cave you can pass through. Poison ivy is plentiful here, so take the proper precautions. Really shocking that a place with such natural beauty gets so little love. I recommend checking it out. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because information was so sparse.
Quant lookout area with picnic tables, two cooking areas, and a great view. The trails are not marked all that well and there isn't any signage/maps, so come prepared, which is the only reason I gave it a 4-star. You drive completely through the campground/RV area and continue on a gravel road to reach the lookout area. There is a short trail off to the right of the lookout area and then a second longer one a little bit farther back from the first, closer to the beginning of the parking lot. It was a great hike. Keep an eye out for poison ivy. Completely recommend visiting if you haven't.
Awesome rock formations on the trail around High Knob!
Incredible rock formations. This hike was better than Rim Rock. We took the shorter hike on the 105 trail that follows the bluff. Only took about an hour.
If you manage to get to this trail (on a rocky road, through a camp and then up a hill) BEWARE OF POSION IVY!! The trail had some cool/ unique views, but was not marked well, not trimmed well and had the most poison ivy I’ve ever seen in my life on a trail
