This place is a great location, great views and even better people. Sage Martinez was a great help to us by giving great suggestions in town and making us feel more than comfortable. Definitely would come back again!

Excellent location for the 4th of July- the city firework show was a 5 minute walk away. Staff are extremely friendly, great social events and spaces. Clean and respectful environments are maintained. Bathrooms are kind of inconvenient due to the building history. I didn't want to walk around public areas in a towel, so I had to get creative to hang my change of clothes and other items at the showers.

Fort Mason has the best views of the GG Bridge & Alcatraz. They have very clean rooms and a large kitchen. I have been visiting here the last 12 years. It's walking distance to Pier 39 and the Marina District. Plus there is overnight parking. I highly recommend.

The hostel is good in its facilites. Kitchen hot shower etc. Specifies no alcohol yet the staff fridge is full of beer. Practise what you preach please. The Windows in the rooms are old wooden sash things and a gale blown thru most of the time. This makes the room cold as there is no working system. Three in our room got sick. Staff happily hand out extra blankets which you can wrap round the bunk to try and keep the wind out. It could be better but there seems no interest in improvement. There are some evening entertainments which were not that well subscribed. The view of the Bridge and Alcatraz are nice. Close walk to pier 39 and buses trams etc. Would I stay again....not if I got the same room....brrrr

Une excellente auberge de jeunesse. J'étais en dortoir mixte 20 lit et le dortoir était calme et sécurisant, un seul bémol le dernier soir où un des voyageurs avait du cannabis sur lui qui empestait tout le dortoir. Les sanitaires sont globalement très propre, le manque de propreté à certains moments rare était vraiment dû à des voyageurs peu respectueux. Il faudrait peut-être mettre une affiche dans les toilettes pour rappeler que la balayette des toilettes existe et doit être utilisé quand nécessaire ? Le petit déjeuner était très, basique mais largement suffisant. La cuisine était fonctionnel vraiment très bien. L'emplacement était vraiment très bien et les autres voyageurs très sympathique. Les activités proposaient sont parfaitement adapté pour se rencontrer. Un petit bémol peut être sur le personnel qui pourrait être un peu plus sympathique dans certains cas (par exemple quand on m'a dit de mettre des chaussures dans la cuisine alors que c'est écrit nulle part qu'on doit en avoir et qu'il ne me restait que la vaisselle à faire (moins de 2 minutes), on aurait pu me dire que la prochaine fois il faudrait que j'ai des chaussures, bref remarque que j'ai pas apprécié ne voyant pas l'impact que ça a sur les autres et compte tenu du manque d'hygiène plus important d'autres voyageurs...).

20 bed dorm can be a bit loud bc of the number of people moving around, snoring, etc. Free earplugs at front desk were helpful. Room smells like stale socks but also makes sense lol needs more circulation. AMAZING location and vibe, would stay again but aim for a smaller capacity dorm. Only small lockers available for a few valuables, not entire backpacks, bring your own lock.

Very clean and nice. Everyone was super friendly. It's in a wonderful location, in walking distance to lots of local attractions and the park it's in is lovely with amazing views. Comes with free breakfast and there's a cafe on site. Definitely staying here next time I'm in SF.

Plan to stay 3 nights only but end up staying 7 nights The hostel located on the hill, looking to the golden bridge (landmark of san francisco) Walk down 15 minutes to famous fisherman wraft and to huge park Free breakfast provided daily (eggs, banana, orange, bread with peanut butter, butter and marmalet) wheelchair entrance and shower room provided To do laundry cost usd 1 as well for dryer 1 usd During my stay, my card was charged 1 additional night by the male reception, upon check out i were asking the other lady reception to make sure the charges has been void, but she is like, sorry this is the end of my shift, i am leaving... very impatient and rude with the queue of the hostel guest The 7 nights pleasent stay was ruined by this lady. No hospitality soul at all The lady incharge in laundry room more polite and nicer than the reception. Horrible
