Heron House - Bed & breakfast in Key West - 512 Simonton St, USA

My husband and I just finished a wonderful week at the Heron House in Key West. The grounds are beautiful and the maintenance staff were constantly working on the foliage, and managing upkeep. The front desk staff were friendly and available but not obtrusive. The atmosphere is quiet, only adults and there are opportunities to engage with others at breakfast. Every room comes with an outdoor seating area and table. Our room was very clean and housekeeping did an excellent job providing fresh towels for our room and the beach. Each day they offer a basic continental breakfast, nothing fancy but fresh and the attendant keeps everything refreshed throughout. The pool area is well maintained and there are options for sunbathing, sitting in the shade, and ice cold drinking water is always available. There are also two cats who are very friendly and are often lounging by the pool. If you are looking for a quiet stay that is close to activities this is the place for you! We plan to stay here again in the future! Room 7 was fantastic & included a very large jacuzzi tub! Thank you Heron House for a perfect vacation! ||Only negative was the mosquitos. Bring or by bug spray!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Heron House. From start to finish our stay was exceptional. We were greeted warmly at the front desk by Roman who saw to our every need with grace and kindness. Our room was enchanting and immaculately clean. The continental breakfast was just ok but not poor enough to reduce this 5 star rating. We look forward to staying at Heron House again next year.

I recently spent 4 nights at Heron House. This was the second visit and there will be a 3rd in the near future I hope. Check in was quick and friendly. Those working the front desk were very friendly and helpful. My room was clean and had plenty of room |Despite no daily housekeeping I received fresh towels each day. The pool was just steps from my room and big enough to keep social distancing. Towels are available right at the pool as well. So than you Heron House for a great stay and hope to see you soon.

We have to give Louis a huge shout out! Great guy, super upbeat energy and contagious smile. He made our initial encounter just what we needed after traveling in. The grounds are super clean and well kept, the room was quaint, clean and other than needing a microwave and maybe a little bigger fridge, perfect. The pool was exactly what the doctor ordered and everyone in it was super friendly. Everyone we met at the front desk were great and helpful, the housecleaning crew were constant smiles and "good mornings" and the breakfast lady was just a pleasant person and happy to help. We really, honestly thought it was the perfect stay for a quiet stay in KW. SO happy we changed our hotel and stayed here! Thanks, Louis, the next Gatorade is on us!! We left some frozen waters and a raft at the pool and everyone seemed genuinely thankful. Just an all around great energy.

Great place to stay. Very friendly staff. Quiet and quaint environment. Located within walking distance to Duval street and many restaurants and bars! There is a lot of history to see in Key West. I would definitely stay here again!! Pool on-site. Continental breakfast daily.

The entire staff I thought was pleasant and attentive. If you're nice, they are nicer times 2. I was shocked by the amount of drunk old white entitled tourists in this town...lol, so maybe, some bad reviews are a reflection of that demographic. Location perfect. Every guest I hung out w at the pool or breakfast was great and interesting to talk to. Room was cold, which is all I cared about. It was cute, unique and a vibe. Exceeded my strong expectations. Would def stay again.

Had a great time here. I drove down from Boca Raton and booked this room based on location and price. Was pleasantly surprised at my choice! Room was ready upon check in. The man at the front desk (I think Patrick) was very welcoming and escorted me to the room and gave me a quick tour. The room was perfect. I was ground level right next to the pool, coffee bar and patio and ice machine. (Room 12). The vibe here is safe, quiet and quaint. You feel very insulated even being so close to Duval. The sun deck is a cool feature too. The cats are both really nice and friendly. Parking was not an issue for me because I rode my motorcycle down so I was able to park right out front every night/day. Awesome stay, no complaints. I will be back.

Great little place. Our room was gorgeous, with a super comfy bed. Complimentary continental breakfast with eggs, sausage patties, and coffee. Nice pool in the courtyard, and garden with water fountain/fish tank. A bit pricey, but most places are. It’s hard to beat the location. The Heron House is an adjacent block away from all the nightlife and shops on Duval street. Also about a 15 minute walk to the southern most point in the continental US, as well as, a 15 minute walk in the opposite direction to the sunset pier and boardwalk. Lastly, but certainly not least, the property comes with a resident cat named Mary. She’s super friendly, affectionate, and loves to snug if she’s allowed in the room with you. I highly recommend, and would definitely come again.
