This guided tour was really incredible. We saw the sign for it walking down the street and decided to take a chance- it paid off. We learned more in the hour tour here than anywhere else in NOLA! The tour guide was so kind and informative, taking time to answer all our questions. Learning about the enslaved people of urban NOLA is so important when taking in this city’s history.
Danielle gave an exceptional tour. I was particularly moved by her empathy and tact around the topic of enslavement. I am a local tour guide and I was thoroughly impressed by her depth of knowledge and delivery. What an amazing exhibit!
This is amazing if you want an insider's look at a French Quarter home in the mid to late 1800s. Tour guide Danielle is 10/10!!
The tour guide was very friendly and helpful. She gave us a tour for the whole building for almost 50mins. She tell a very nice story about the history of the house and New Orleans.
We totally enjoyed this seasonal tour. Appropriate for the Fall/Halloween season. Our guide was so knowledgeable about the topic of Mourning in the Victorian era. The beauty of the home prepared with genuine furnishings of the era set up for a family in mourning and the vast information of the guide made for the most interesting time. We will return for more tours on different topics.
Super cool place to learn a bit about history. Our guide was fantastic
Docent Jimemma's talk on antebellum enslavement is comprehensive and enlightening and her songs inspiring.
I did the Urban Enslavement Tour. I learned a lot about the difference between slavery in a city vs. on a plantation. There was a lot of interesting history about the Hermann-Grima family and their home which we toured as part of this tour. If you are looking for a quick tour that hits on the history of New Orleans (including the slavery within New Orleans) and architecture this is definitely the tour for you!
