Nice little museum for a really low price (note: Potton house no longer included). I definitely learned a few things I never knew before, such as a female bull fighter and a local who became a movie star and Jean Porter, who was a movie actress and pinup girl.
It was smaller than I thought it would be, and they are no longer connected to the Potten house. But we enjoyed learning more of the history of Big Spring and Rodeo.
Big Spring is proud of it's very interesting Heritage Museum. It is well worth a visit! Great photo ops as well!
They have been making updates and I have to say as much as I liked it before I Love it now! It is filled with truck history and had unique and beautiful gifts to buy They feature artists, local events, community events and they have a hands on display in the oil display. More things they I can remember Sheryl if one of the sweetest, friendliest person you could meet. The Museum is so open and generous to the community. For several years they have allowed my Quilting Guild to display Quilts we have sold tickets to raffle for various fund raisers. They have the tree lights each year kid friendly events and so much more. Check them out they are amazing!
We are driving cross country and needed a break. We pulled off and this was the only open ‘attraction’. We were greeted by Cheryl, the nicest and sweetest lady we’ve met so far. She was knowledgeable and fun to talk to, also humorous and kind. The museum is small, but pretty cool. We were grateful for the break and the peek into this part of the world, as well as the hospitality of Cheryl.
Very friendly and helpful "curator" let us in for free when we arrived 45 minutes before closing. We were impressed enough by the exhibits that we paid when we left. Surprisingly good fine art collection, plus the expected history.
Great museum. Worth the time to take a tour.
I've lived in Big Spring for over 30 years and I visited the museum for the very first time. It was very interesting to see. They have a lot of exhibits from the past.

I appreciated the introduction from the attendant. The museum is not really big but it's full of history. The two cockpits that are available to sit in were great. I'm glad I stopped in, and they have this free to the public.
The line was long but went pretty darn quick. We got the Superman and the Guardian which were both good. I can't wait to start getting some of the hot tea options this winter.
