Henson Cove Place B&B with Cabin - Featured Reviews (75)
Henson Cove is a beautiful B&B, with such sweet hosts. I came in yesterday afternoon and am leaving this morning, but couldn't leave without writing a review.
The room (Mountain View) is a nice large room with a king (firm) bed, a comfy chair, lovely old country decor, and a mountain view overlooking the cute front porch. It does not have a TV or attached bathroom, but the livingroom, with a TV, is right outside the bedroom and the bathroom is close. The bathroom is adorable with a large old claw tub/shower.
The home is cozy and has a peaceful feel to it, with a library and plenty of places, inside and out, to relax. The host did such a good job at making me feel welcome and I loved the little touches like cookies, snacks and more.
The town of Hiawassee is only a few miles away with plenty of options for food, groceries, gas, and shops.
I highly recommend even if you only have 1 night to enjoy it.
Room was comfortable with extra touches that made us feel at home and comfortable. Location is great. Minutes from Hiawassee. Service was friendly. The breakfast was great. Chocolate covered strawberries- yum! Definitely a place I may visit again!
This is a little gem. The proprietors are lovely people. She makes breakfast and it is awesome! I will come back often.
Staying at Henson Cove felt like staying at your extended family home for the weekend. The spot was very clean. I loved the attention to detail for the breakfast where the hosts remembered that I was a vegetarian and made our meals accordingly (and just as delicious) in the morning! I noticed also someone else was gluten-free and they made the dish accordingly as well which is such a nice touch. Dave and Mariah are extremely welcoming hosts once you get there. The Roku TV was greatly appreciated and had everything you needed. Dave and Mariah also took the time to make some great local recommendations. The B&B overall has a beautiful classic cabin aesthetic and made a very comfortable stay.
My only gripe (which is out of Henson Cove's control) is the area. I do wish there were more major towns nearby for things to do in the evening because we are more "town" people than big hikers. However, if you are big into nature and love hiking, this area is perfect for you and there's plenty to do (Brasstown Bald, Tallulah Gorge, Raven's Cliff, Anna Ruby Falls, etc.)!
P.S. My husband had a work trip come up last minute early in the morning and so we had to cancel our last night stay to leave the day before so he could make it, and Dave was so generous to tell us that we could just use that night to get a free night stay the next time!! And he did so without a blink a of the eye! That is hospitality right there that you really can't get with a big chain hotel or even most businesses nowadays.
This B&B is fantastic! My daughter and I stayed for two nights in early August. I booked the room with a king size bed. The private bathroom is about three steps from the bedroom door. It has a claw foot tub which I took advantage of the first night we ! were there. I don't think there is a better way to relax after days of traveling than a bubble bath in a claw foot tub.
The next morning, we were served a gourmet breakfast. I believe Mariah called them stuffed pancakes. They were served in souffle type dishes and filled with fruit. Absolutely delicious!
The next evening, I sat out on the porch swing reading, until it got too dark. I moved inside to a cozy library and finished my book. I truly felt like I was at home.
The next morning, we were served a frittata with sausage, fruit, biscuits, coffee, and orange juice. Just as delicious as the first morning.
I hope to be back in Hiawassee within the year and I will definitely be staying at Henson Cove again. The place is beautiful. Mariah and Dave are awesome hosts. I highly recommend!
Mariah and Dave were excellent hosts. Their location was incredibly quiet and serene. The mountain views from the front porch are great with the added bonus of horses grazing in the field across the way. We stayed in the Mountain View room and had a great stay. The breakfasts were delicious. We would definitely stay again.
This was our first B&B experience and it was amazing! David and Mariah were awesome, very friendly, definitely made you feel like family! Breakfast was delicious! Will definitely stay here again when in the area!
Was a wonderful getaway with my wonderful wife . Dave was a great host and his wife Mariah was very nice and a wonderful cook. Mariahs breakfasts were restaurant quality and we were a great start to our days . And glass of wine on the porch was so relaxing . Thank you Dave and Mariah

So you want 5 star food without the pretentious atmosphere? This place has got you covered. I've never been to a restaurant with a more laid back vibe. The lighting, the music, and the staff were all warm and inviting. The food was out of this world.
Lunch time for three! Order at the counter and they bring to you. Can dine indoors or out on covered porch. Indoor dining area is tight but definitely fits a good BBQ dining spot along with decor. Barely a wait for entrees. Pulled pork sandwiche
Incredible views from the top. The first time I went there was a cloud cover below the top, covering the lakeâ¦it was quite a sight to see.
You can drive all the way up to the top, but there is limited parking up there. Thereâs a secondary lot a
One of my favorite places to visit, itâs the highest pick of Georgia.
Brasstown Bald provides spectacular 360 degree view of the mountains. The best time is to go during fall peak. Drive to visitor center & deck is simply mesmerizing.
