Service was good and a beautiful sunset we saw. That’s all. Place is filthy. On the top floor if you look up to the ceiling there is so much dirt all around. That has not be cleaned in years. Mould on the vinegar dispenser… that gives you an idea of the cleanliness of the restaurant. And if this is what you see, you can imagine what can be found in areas customers do not see. Could not finish my meal just thinking of all this.
Hennessy Tavern is a cool bar restaurant overlooking Hermosa Beach. Evan was professional and courteous to us. The drinks were strong! We ordered Beed Brisket Sandwich with Sweet potatoes fries Shepherd Pie Cheeseburger Fries and an American Burger with onion rings. We sat at the top of the restaurant with a great view.
Here's the people who make a place great. Thalia and skyler. these 2 ladies were great fixing something that needed attention and enhanced the Hennesy's experience with above and beyond customer service. Hennesy's breakfast was a new thing for us. i ordered the Capitan Crunch french toast.... yummy! and my friend ordered some delicious acrambler on a bed of home fries ...and on top of it all, the ocean view. ratings: Ambiance: 5 (out of 5) Service: 5 Restrooms: 5 food quality: 5
The food is at best slightly less than medicore, but the views from the top level for lunch is awesome! I love fries, but I like them crispy not soft and drenched with oil. Their chips are greasy and cold so the grease is coated on the cold chips. I would go there only for drinks and possibly appetizers.
Tried the avocado toast and the Highlander skillet (two of the most popular items) The avocado toast arrived pretty soggy. Both dishes had good flavor but, the potatoes were extremely oily. Like a soggy oil. We also ordered a michelada. It didn’t have much flavor it’s a 2/5 at best. Overall , the food is okay 3/5. The other thing I noticed was that my glass of water smelled like egg. I didn’t notice until I had drank a good amount of water but it was a strong odor. The atmosphere is nice. We sat in the upstairs area. Service was good. Staff was friendly and attentive.
Service was great! The portion was generous based on the listed price solely on the area of the restaurant. I would recommend this place for a bite to eat. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the choices. We got the Fish and Chips and Steak and Shrimp entrees. They were both enjoyable.
Stopped in for a quick bite, nice kids meals, huge 1/3? Lb burger! Never had Anita root beer before but it was fab. $6 fresh squeezed vodka cocktails on the weekends pretty nice too!!! Great service from Joe on the patio.
I had the pleasure of visiting Hennessey's Tavern back in November of 2022, and I must say it was a delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The tavern had a cozy and traditional pub vibe, with wooden furnishings and friendly staff. Great views of the ocean and people walking by. One of the standout features of Hennessey's Tavern was their exceptional fish and chips. As a seafood lover, I'm always on the lookout for well-prepared fish dishes, and Tennessey's did not disappoint. The fish was perfectly battered, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It had a fresh and flaky texture, and the flavor was simply fantastic. The accompanying chips were equally delicious, golden and crispy. It was evident that the chef paid attention to detail in preparing this classic dish. Another great aspect of my visit was the fact that the World Cup was playing on the televisions throughout the tavern. Being a sports enthusiast, it was a joy to watch the games while enjoying my meal. The ambiance was lively and the energy in the tavern was infectious. It created a sense of camaraderie among the patrons, as we cheered for our favorite teams and shared in the excitement of the tournament. The service at Hennessey's Tavern was commendable. The staff members were attentive and friendly, always ready to assist with any requests. They provided recommendations and made sure that I had everything I needed to have an enjoyable dining experience. In addition to the standout fish and chips and the lively sports atmosphere, Hennessey's Tavern also offered a wide range of beverages. Their drink menu featured an impressive selection of craft beers and spirits, which further enhanced the overall experience. Whether you're a beer aficionado or prefer a classic cocktail, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Overall, my visit to Hennessey's Tavern was a memorable one. The notable fish and chips, combined with the exciting World Cup atmosphere, created a fantastic dining experience. The staff's hospitality and the diverse beverage options added to the overall charm of the tavern. If you find yourself in Hermosa Beach and in the mood for excellent food, a lively sports ambiance, and great service, I highly recommend stopping by Hennessey's Tavern.

Great coffee spot. They make a mean latte (especially the 'hot' honey latte), and the ambiance is super chill. Have been here a couple times before and the service is always great.
Great beach, nice part of the beach for rollerblading or skateboarding, similar to Venice beach, otherwise like that whole part along the coast to Santa Monica. Lots of beautiful houses/cottages along the coast, restaurants and bars. A nice idea to s
