Wow this city is amazing and get more beautiful in holiday season. The Xmas light decoration is amazing. The live music at couple of places makes the city walk experience more soothing. There is lot to do in the city in summer, tubing, roller coaster, zip line etc but except roller coaster other adventure activities are closed in winter. The food is amazing, chocolates, dessert, different country cuisine and varieties of coffee make this place perfect for food lovers. Couple of shops get closed early so just check the open hours before you visit. You can get free public parking spot easily in winter and paid parking spots available near to the city area as well.
Helen is said to be a model of Alpine village Europe. Definitely, the place is beautiful. But, i couldn't find anything special to give this place that much hype. Love lock bridge is interesting to visit. The European model is hardly 100 to 200 meters only to walk. Mountain coaster which is priced at $17 is only one attraction. Toy train is priced at $10.....fun for children only. Everything is highly priced. Car parking is $10 flat rate for a day. Though you park for only an hour, need to be paid in full. I couldn't get the logic behind this. No where I found the parking fee charged this way. Hardly one hour duration is more than enough to spend here. (Excluding the time involved in riding the Mountain coaster)
Helen Georgia is absolutely beautiful. I went on Thanksgiving Day in 2023 and I really enjoyed the ambience of the area. With lots of little shops, beautiful views and plenty of places to eat. My favorite was the funnel cake and hot chocolate! If you've never been, make it a point to go check it out.
We love Helen! It is an awesome piece of Europe in America. Growing up in Germany as an Air Force Brat this place conjures up great memories. We had such a fun tubing on the Chattahoochee river and eating at the awesome restaurants. I highly recommend this little town to anyone wanting a taste of Bavarian like fun!
Charming German town located near the mountains of North Georgia. Has a decent selection of restaurants and shops in town, as well as a few pubs and bars nearby. The main attraction of Helen is the vast amount of natural beauty located nearby, such as local waterfalls, hikes across the mountains, forests and rivers. Definitely a spot worth visiting when exploring the different areas of Georgia.
Helen and Dahlonega are two of the cutest little Christmas towns you ever will see. If you're planning on visiting one of these towns, I highly recommend on making the 30 minute drive to see the other as well.
Quick trip. Will be returning for a longer stay. Quaint German/Alpine village replica. Parking- $10 everywhere. Great shopping, German food, tubing, water park, Alpine coaster, mini golf, pan for gold. Expensive- be prepared. Do your research before you go- other things to do in the area.
It’s set up as a alpine village. The village is surrounded by mountains, forests, and rivers. You will find cute alpine-themed motels.cozy cabins, or bed and breakfast. You will find alpine brew decks throughout the town. There are quaint shops to find the souvenirs or T-shirts that you were looking for. It’s known for Oktoberfest which runs from Sept.7th- October29th. There is Anna Ruby Falls just outside of Helen. You can use your National Park Pass to get in! It’s a fun and unique place to visit. The falls trail is paved but steep!

Love love love this place. Every time weâre in town we have to go here, itâs one of my favorite coffee shops! The bacon egg and cheese is AMAZING and probably the best Iâve ever had! Their coffee is also great! Perfect flavor and strength! I lo

What a great trip into yesteryear. The horse-drawn buggy, the beautiful mansion, furniture, accessories and decor were a memorable sight. The family in Victorian attire playing the parts of the original family were delightful. The Father Christmas wa
This is a diamond in the rough. Visit it and see. This is located just north of the intersection of 17 and 255. It is an old restored school building that has been converted into a museum. There is plenty of parking in front of the school. What a gre
