We stayed in, I believe, one of the most expensive rooms and I had high expectations. It did not disappoint. The room was very spacious with a huge bathroom, separate bedroom and separate sitting area. All areas were clean and well maintained. Bathroom was awesome. We were on the 2nd floor so city view is more street view. The hotel is only 4 or 5 floors though. I thought the decor was very fitting. We enjoyed the fact that each floor had nuances of a particular floor of the old mall. There was also a large sitting area on each floor with the rooms surrounding it. The reception area is also very unique and spacious with an old car in it. Very tall ceilings as well. Front desk staff was very welcoming, housekeeping friendly and valet was exceptionally efficient. If you want to be in the heart of Asheville, the hotel is the perfect spot. There is a charge to park but as I said the valet is very responsive and we were in and out often with our car.
Had a great stay! (3 nights)||The Haywood Park Hotel is located in a 1920's era refurbished, former department store (Bon Marche).||Lobby features a fully operating 1929 Model A Sedan and memorabilia of the department store from that age.||Our room (deluxe King Suite - Room 214) was HUGE! Living and Dining areas (with seating area, dining table/chairs, mini fridge and flat screen) with a separate bedroom which connects to a large bath with 2 sinks and a big shower with a rain shower head as well as a handle shower head. Separate area for the toilet.|Flat screen, good sized closet.||Bed was comfortable and the room was quiet (even though it faced the street)||Hotel staff were very helpful with restaurant/bar suggestions and info about Asheville.||Walkable to most within downtown Asheville.||Valet parking is available ($17/night with no extra charge for in/out per day).||Only (very minor) item is we had to go to the front desk in the lobby for ice. BUT - they serve champagne in the late afternoon so.....||(try the Flat Iron Hotel roof bar across the street - great views of the Smokey Mountains)
Loved the Haywood Park Hotel. Very spacious and clean with a comfy sofa sitting area (and a desk if you must work). Jetted tub in the bathroom, which I didn’t get to take advantage of. We were located adjacent to the alleyway, but we did not have any problem with the trash collection truck noise as others described. I would definitely stay here again.
Great room, great valet service & location. It's a historic hotel so there are interesting facts all around. We upgraded to a room in the wing that was newly renovated. Would recommend doing that if possible.
Our family had an amazing stay at the Haywood Park hotel. The hotel is immaculate. It’s in the heart of downtown Asheville. Its walkable fro all major pubs and other downtown restaurants. ||Bill was phenomenal helping us get checked and giving us advice as to where to go. If you’re looking for a posh place to say in Asheville, this is your spot. Bill made our weekend phenomenal. We will be back!|| P.S. There is complimentary champs at check in…
I recently celebrated a two-year anniversary in Asheville and decided to stay outside the downtown area. After driving from Kannapolis, NC, we planned to find a place to stay later in the day. I am incredibly grateful for the outstanding service provided by Bill Kinsloe. Despite it being late at night, Bill went above and beyond to secure the last available room for us, offering a deal I didn't think was possible. His dedication extended beyond check-in, as he also recommended several excellent places to visit during our stay.
The hotel itself was immaculate, with spacious rooms and an overall fantastic experience. On Sunday morning, I was pleasantly surprised to see Bill back at the front desk, despite the busy check-out process. The valet service was backed up, but Bill once again demonstrated his commitment to guest satisfaction by personally assisting the valet and delivering our car to us.
Bill is an invaluable asset to this hotel, and as long as he is there, I won't consider staying anywhere else in Asheville. Thanks to Bill, our trip was truly memorable.
My father and I stayed here for 4 nights and we had an incredible stay! We stayed in the king suite which had a fully separate bedroom. I slept on the couch (did not pull it out) and slept great. This was the largest hotel room I have stayed in. The double sinks in the bathroom was such a plus. The staff was very kind and helpful - we loved our valets . The history of the building is really cool and added to the experience. This is a great place if you want to stay right in the heart of Asheville - would definitely stay here again!
Great location - very convenient to shopping, restaurants and bars. Both check in and checkout were quick/efficient. Valet parking - brought my car faster than expected. Room was huge, clean and well appointed. Our dog was happy there too.
