Been dealing with Stu and the Hayward fly fishing company for over two years now. Finally was able to go on a guided trip with them on November first and was lucky enough to be placed with Mark and Jared. They went above and beyond to make our day great. Not only were they both knowledgeable and incredibly professional, but they were most importantly fun. Musky are a severely hard species to target and after multiple weeks of DIY fishing it was nice to get both advice and answers to numerous questions that set me and my friends up for success. As a industry professional who takes pride in my own work, not only was I impressed with the quality of the guides, but the atmosphere in the shop and the willingness of everyone affiliated with the shop to help me and my pals achieve success on the water in the future. 10/10 would recommend for anyone wanting to improve their skill set and have an incredible experience both on and off the water.

Great fly fishing store for flies, fly tying, name brand waders, boots, fly rods, reels, accessories and more. Stu is very friendly and knowledgeable.

This a first rate flyfishing operation. The shop is well stocked w quality goods. The guides are professional, friendly, instructive and know the rivers and how to fish them. I've fished with them for over 12 years for smallmouth and muskie.

Stu was very helpful when I was browsing and needed a new fly rod and reel. He didn't push me into anything I wasn't looking for. A couple days later, my wife walked in and bought what I was looking at. He loaded the reel with backing for free and a new line to suit my needs. We were both very pleased with this experience and would recommend this shop to anyone. His prices were right in-line with everyone else. Nicely done!

These guys are the damn best! I have been on a variety of different drift trips and each time I am impressed. Great instruction and knowledge; from teaching beginners like my 9 year old son, to supporting the addictions of the experienced like me. Professional. Experienced. Fishy. Ethical. Value Driven. I grew up in Hayward and have always admired this business. Today my gal pal and I were both visiting from out of town and neither of us actually fish but still decided to check out this store. They have a great stock of pantagonia clothing and many other great outdoor gear items. The newer owner, Stu, was friendly and welcoming. He explained all that their store has to offer including the guided fishing excursions which I’ve always heard great reviews about. I’m now seriously considering bringing my partner and his parents from the west coast out here to do a guided fishing excursion at some point. If you’re in Hayward, please check this out even if you’re not a fisherman. Totally worth it. They even have hilarious stickers for sale too!

Excellent shop for fly anglers with lots of options for gear, equipment and a variety of flies to choose from. My experience with their guide service was superb, going above and beyond to create a great time on the water.
