Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Oakland/Alameda - Featured Reviews (361)
I stayed here for 7 nights. The building has a vintage charm, and the room is spacious with basic furnishings. However, the breakfast selection is limited and becomes repetitive over time. Additionally, the front desk staff could be more enthusiastic and welcoming.
Bed bugs!!! Initially hotel appeared clean and modern however, we discovered after the first night that there were bed bugs as we woke up to dead bugs in the bed. After a quick google search they were 100% bed bugs. We immediately called the front desk and asked to change rooms. Her response was “were they in the bed?”. Not even an apology. I had to go down and get the key to the new room and she again could care less about the problem and didn’t say sorry. It wasn’t until we checked out that she finally said sorry but without any sincerity. The new room was clean and beds comfortable but such a horrible experience. I traveled with my husband and 2 daughters. My husband and one of my daughters got bit all over. Safe to say we will not be staying here again.
Great, quiet hotel on a nice street that has several restaurants. If you're going to an event on the Hornet it's less than a mile a way. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
Clean and presentable accommodations, right down to the sanitized and bagged remote. The overnight front desk clerk was super friendly. Breakfast was filling if you like scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal, bagels, muffins, yogurt, coffee and juice. Highly recommend.
Well managed hotel in downtown Alameda. Suites are clean and everything in them worked fine the two times I have stayed there. Breakfast is relatively minimal (compared with what I saw on the website - no waffles or pancakes might disappoint those with elementary age kids), but there are nearby options if wanting something more robust (including the excellent Signal coffee shop one block south).
Very nice hotel and only has three floors. Location was perfect. Close to several eating places and located in a very nice community.
Rooms were clean and spacious. Staff seemed friendly however when we asked for washcloths and toilet paper, they told us to come down and get it. I asked if it could be brought up and they acted like I was asking for something special. They still don’t do daily housekeeping as part of Covid protocol.
We were in the local area for a family graduation. The location was perfect for getting out to Oakland but also central to exploring Alameda. The staff were friendly and helpful from check in, during stay and check out. The rooms had the amenities we were looking for in a stay. Would stay again for a future trip to the area.

Very unique old school video arcade located in Alameda's busiest commercial district. Pay for unlimited plays for a certain amount of time.
Decent selection of games range from the oldies like centipede and Pac-Man and Tron up to somewhere more mode
The drip coffee was bold and had good flavor. My wife liked her matcha latte. We also had an Ube Mochi cake which was amazing. The staff were friendly and quick. Iâll be coming back here.
Hidden gem in Alameda! Or maybe itâs not a hidden gem, and everyone knows this place. Regardless, all the dishes that we ordered were really good.
- Basil fried rice (super fragrant)
- BBQ lemongrass pork ribs (fall off the bone tender)
- Stuffed c
My partner and I stopped in here for a light dinner. We had a few cocktails and tried the charcuterie board and Margarita flatbread pizza. We really enjoyed everything we tried and had an amazing night. We will definitely be coming back here for date
Great variety of local beers on tap ranging from juicy IPAs to malt-forward stouts, all made with Admiral Maltings' malted grain. They even had local whiskies made with their malts, (will have to try those next time), and they offer tours of their fa
Nice and cool area with the breeze from the bay air. Perfect place for large and small dogs. Pretty bustling on the weekends with so many pups playing. There's always a trashcan within and reach to drop off the dookies.
