Hawg Wild BBQ & Catfish House of Hiawassee - Barbecue restaurant in Hiawassee - 625 US-76, USA

We had a party of five for lunch. Promptly sat at a table and our server was over quickly for drink orders and then appetizer orders. We tried the smothered pork cheese fries and the fried green tomatoes- very good, and our server brought spicy ranch which was good on both. We did not have to wait long on entrees - all the food was fresh and hot. Pulled pork was great as was all the sauces we tried. Our server did a great job considering it was her second day at the restaurant. Definitely would visit again.

This is our favorite BBQ place and whenever we are in the area we always make sure to have either lunch or dinner here. This is the kind of BBQ that doesn't need sauce it is that tender and naturally delicious. That being said their sauces are amazing so you are probably going to want to sauce it up! The sweet Georgia brown sauce is my personal favorite. The staff here is always so kind, accommodating and they give amazing service. To top it all off this place also has one of the best views to sit and enjoy a good meal in all of North Georgia. Thank you for another great meal Hawg Wild! See you next time!

We had a very nice lunch. Pulled pork sandwiches. Fried pickles for an appetizer. Peanut butter pie to go! Bonus-it was Thursday and the pork plates were half off!

My wife and I dined here tonight 1/27/2024 on our way back to Helen after exploring the surrounding areas such as Cleveland, Blairesville and Hiawassee and I must say we were quite pleased. The atmosphere was very family oriented, our waitress was great and went above and beyond to assist us and the food was amazing. We got the “Heifer” to share with pulled pork, brisket, Italian sausage and fried shrimp. It was more than adequate for my wife and I and with 3 sides which we chose fried green tomatoes, fried okra, and Brunswick stew we were more than full upon finishing. Our only dislike was the Italian sausage we felt it didn’t pair well with the other bbq items due to the very herbal aromatic taste. The bbq was otherwise great especially with their “Wildfire” sauce which we ended up buying a pint of to take back home with us to South Alabama. Overall great place and I highly recommend for anyone passing through the Hiawassee area. My only regret was eating all the food before remembering to take a pic to post with my review.

The view at this BBQ place is really great. The catfish was delicious, and the sweet tea was pleasant. My husband has been trying brisket in the area, and he said this one was good. They have cheap wings on Wednesdays so we will be going back to try them. If you are in the area, this is a good place for BBQ.

Ordered the Brunswick stew, & it use to come with hush puppies,(which were great); but he, (our waiter) said it came with Texas toast. We ordered hush puppies which came out burnt, very small & cold. When we got our plates of pulled pork, the meat was only room temp. The pork & beans were the hottest (warmest) thing on the plate. Not very satisfying over all.

Very cool view of the lake and nearby mountains, inside was unique. Food was good, but was not what I'm used too in South Georgia. Overall I would probably back after trying other bbq places nearby

Great authentic BBQ! We were seated as soon as we walked in. Our server was attentive, and the food was fantastic. I had the fried pickles and smoked wings.
