Hartman Rock Garden - Tourist attraction in Springfield - 1905 Russell Ave, USA

A very curious attraction tucked away in Springfield OH. Stop by and walk through the back yard of the late Mr. Hartman. There are many beautiful buildings and sculptures here, well preserved. You can read about his life and motivations as well.

Definitely wish I would have come during spring or summer to see the flowers, but the rock formations are still impressive on their own. I can't imagine how long it took to make all of these. Truly a labor of love.

This is a cute little garden where you would least expect it. I recommend picking up a brochure before going through so you have the information on each building/sculpture. It was very interesting & worth the trip. No admission fee but they do have a donation box.

The kids and I were at awe with the creativity and work that's been preserved. We loved that they had a little booklet the kids could complete that had more information about several pieces and kept them engaged. Was a little strange in that it felt kinda like we were in someone's yard😬 but they were super nice and welcoming too

The garden was gorgeous. When we arrived at the rock garden, we were in awe of its beauty. There was also a very friendly cat that gave us a guided tour. And I found a leopard slug! It was extremely fun and exciting!

What a fun place! The art buildings were really amazing. So much detail and love and effort went into making these. Absolutely free (leave a donation if you enjoy it!), took us about an hour to see everything. Worth the time.

This is a really lovely place to come, we come here at Easter time and stop in at various other times. Love to buildings, they are the grounds, really pretty.

A very cool place! Ben Hartman built a concrete fishing pond in his backyard in 1932 and after that was hooked. Using hundreds of thousand of stones, he created this village of castles and structures. Beautiful! Absolutely love finding roadside attractions like this! So unique and quite an experience!
