This gorgeous area has a white sand beach and plenty of swimming. Great staff. Covered picnic tables and restrooms at the top and portapotties beach side.
You cannot launch canoes, paddle boards, or kayaks from the beach. There is a separate place for that.
Free life vests.
All day pass is 5.00.
One issue to be aware of is the biting flies that appeared late afternoon.
Not sure what those things eat in the winter, but they made a meal of us!
Nice sand cute small family beach. Water is warm after middle June. The park volunteers and staff are wonderful!

I journeyed to the place after looking at the location for a sunny day visit. But, I found a locked gate with no hours or information about opening day, etc. Upon seeking more information on the state website I found a 404 webpage error. I'm sure when it opens it will be a nice place to hang a hammock and relax. I was there on April 14th of 2023. Maybe it opens in May? I would be happy just visiting, but I don't know if I can walk in or not? It looks like the distance from the gate to the lake is a nice walk. And yes, that's my finger in the photo, I did that on purpose.
Well-kept beach and swimming area with clean bathrooms! Lots of space to spread out and enjoy the day. The covered picnic pavilions have a gorgeous view of the water and plenty of parking. Gradual entry sand beach is fantastic for older guests.
Amazing lake view. Water is clean so swimming was wonderful. Nice beach area, but a little rocky. Lots of picnic tables at an upper level, most being under shade. Plenty of parking. $5 for a car to enter. Closes at 5pm.
Parking is okay if you don’t have to park at the top lol great beach, always clean! The gate attendants are so sweet!
There are changing rooms, restrooms available. Some sand and a nice area to enjoy the beach

This is a great hangout in downtown Ellijay. We usually pair this place with the pizza restaurant next door. Very easy location on the square. Been here a few times and will keep coming!
The trail from the parking area to the summit is very rocky but not very steep. There is a good view from the top looking out at the mountains. Of course, the two plaques are there at the summit marking the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail
The trip out here is a long slow (15mph) gravel road through mountain side. It is traversable by any size vehicle and road isnât too narrow, but still need to pull off if youâre passing someone. We saw a good amount of other vehicles on the way.
New to the gym. It's been many years since I been to one. The trainer was very knowledgeable and help planed my work out. Friendly staff and very clean. 8 would recommend them to anyone.
We enjoy coming here during Halloween time to look at various decorations from local businesses, Halloween contest. Also, clean park to take dog for a walk on paved path.
Stopped in during vacation and we are so happy we did. Very welcoming environment and our waitress Haley M was Exceptional! Food was delicious and portions were great. Definitely a must stop if you are near Ellijay. We will definitely be back!

Our server was amazing! She was knowledgeable about sake and the information about the sushi rolls made a difference in other places we've been. The sushi rolls were spot on and the quality was perfect. Thank you for an amazing experience!
Hands down best breakfast ! I had the French toast and I reminded me of the breakfast my great Uncle used to make me. My mother who is notoriously picky said it was the best breakfast sheâs ever eaten out. She had an omelette and sausage and gravy.
