The Harriet Tubman Museum is located in Cambridge MD on the Eastern Shore. It's a great little place to start if you are planning to hit a lot of the H. T. historical sites in the area. It's free, and the people who run it are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. The building is best known for it's iconic mural on the side. Make sure to see it. In addition to learning about H. T. and seeing some beautiful artwork related to her, you can get some detailed maps to show you other stops in the area you can make. It's definitely worth a visit.
Cute little place. Lots of info a d a knowledgeable staff. It's free unless you want to a guided tour of the town for $15 or $55 for the museum tour.
Check the calendar before you go! We traveled over 2 1/2 hours to visit the site and didn’t realize that the Governor of Maryland was visiting that day as well. It was a madhouse in the museum and it was very difficult to navigate with my walker. The one thing we were not able to do because of the crowds was see the orientation video which I really would liked to have seen. The museum itself is well organized. I was hoping to learn more, it only took an hour to read everything and we take our time to read whatever is interpreted in museums. The gift shop was small and had limited merchandise. I bought a book because I heard someone talking about it and it sounded interesting. For those, like myself with mobility issues, they had benches spaced out throughout the museum. My husband was able to drop me off at the door as well. The handicap parking was not in view of the door so it was not very close. The bathroom was easy to navigate with my walker.
Definitely worth the trip if you’re in the area or on your way to Ocean City. There is no fee for admission but donations are encouraged. This modest museum has several displays and was showing Harriet Tubman videos to small groups of people while I was there. They have a portrait wall with seldom seen pics of Tubman. The museum also sells merchandise, including art prints and shirts of the famous mural of Harriet Tubman which is out back. Staff is very friendly.
we stopped here before OC. It's a small place but was educational. Nice staff. You can purchase books and shirts. There are options for guided tours. The town was really cool! small and quaint. Small shops everywhere. It was a great travel stop.
Loved it ,took my younger grands and explained the story of her and the facts. Very educational experience for the children.
I visited the museum a few weeks ago and was glad I had made the trip. I did not spend a long time in the museum, but checked out everything, including watching part of a video. Perhaps I was being overly sensitive, but I did not find the staff particularly friendly and even a little intimidating. So after approaching one staff person, I did not approach any other staff. Perhaps staff would do well to remember how important customer service is. Other museum visitors, I noticed, were very friendly, however, and that helped to make it a pleasant experience. As It was my first time in Cambridge, I was also interested in some of the shops in the town. Further, Cambridge is quite an old city connected with history and slavery.
The mural was dope. The museum, in sharp contrast was disappointingly dull. The information was pieced together and some of it was factually incorrect. Our visit there lasted less than 10 minutes. The visitors center in Church Creek was more immersive and informative.

What an absolute gem to find well on a trip! I eat my fair share of Indian food all around the country, and this has got to be one of my favorites. The naan is the most fresh Iâve ever had. I said that to the owner and they said thatâs because th
Very nice Marina with beautiful views of the Chop tank River. Visit and take a tour of the Choptank River Lighthouse. Nice place for walks and to sit by the water and enjoy the views.
This was my first visit. I had a PSL and everything bagel sandwich. I was unfamiliar with all the options but thankfully my barista was extremely knowledgeable, patient and kind. People were coming and going but it wasnât overly busy. It was a litt
Started using the pool recently at Cambridge YMCA, it's been great. The facility is really good. Everyone is super-helpful and kind. I couldn't be happier with the experience.
A must visit. Just to look and actually get a feel of where Harriet has been was phenomenal. Wish you could actually walk on the property but please do visit the very small town.
Good food and excellent service. Our main courses and kids' meals both come with desserts (ice cream or pudding). The portions are generous, and the kids are delighted.
