I attended with a large group. The information shared was invaluable. There is so much history in Ohio, and it would be very beneficial if everyone is able to visit.
If you love history, you'll really like this place! I've lived in Cincinnati my entire life but didn't know about the Harriet Beecher Stowe House. We visited on a Thursday so it wasn't busy. The tour guide was great. There is the "house history" - how / why it was built, owners, uses, etc - & the Harriet & her family history...Very interesting! They are renovating portions right now, but they've done a good job of letting you see as much as possible of the renovation work while staying safe. I learned a lot. Overall glad we went & would recommend a visit.
I am researching a new tour focused on the Undergroud Railroad and found myself in Cincinnati where Herriet Beecher Stowe lived for a time. The home was closed during my stay but, they were gracious enough to open for my visit. They were passionate, informative, friendly, and accommodating. I highly recommend this tour for locals and tourists.
If you love history this is a must in Cincinnati! Our tour guide, Anne (my partner thinks it was Anna so 😬) was so knowledgeable and pleasant! I wish we’d planned better and given ourselves more than an hour. I could have listened to her tell us stories all day. Thank you, Anne for sharing your knowledge with us! The house is under renovations, we’re going to be on the look out to come back when it’s restored. It was worth every penny of the $6.
Small house with three ros downstairs and four up. Great one on one tour with a nice. Guide. Very few artifacts but good story telling. It is undergoing major renovations.
In the midst of renovation currently, but still available to visit. Contact the staff first. I had a lovely visit and was able to get some information for my upcoming book. The home is an important part of city history. Check it out and discover why
Very interesting and informative. Ed did an excellent job of explaining the history of the Beecher and Stowe families and the background of Unlce Tom's Cabin. We learned from and enjoyed the tour.
Very interesting historical place. It isnot completely finished, they still have to restore quite a bit. But the volunteers are very knowledgeable and it has been an educational and fun visit.
