The sushi is fresh and cut to a nice thickness. I have gone a few times for lunch and happy with their lunch special. The uni is fresh and so good! Scallop carpaccio was light and delightful. The restaurant is small so there is limited table seating but lots of counter seating available. Service is quick and attentive.

I love the option to reserve seating, I got seated immediately. All of the sushi chefs and servers were nice, extremely friendly, and attentive. The sashimi was so good, the fish quality was super , and everything just melted in my mouth. I am definitely coming back, no doubt!!

The food was amazing, the service charming, and the sushi chef as fun as he was skilled. Everything from the karage to the wagyu risotto delicious with layers of flavors. Fresh Wasabi to go with all the amazing sushi. I definitely will be back!

Everything was impeccable. The quality of fish was remarkable. The dishes on their menu are incredibly inventive and delicious! Every detail on the plate was clearly full of intention- even the marinated tomatoes that Taka prepared for us were probably the best tomatoes I’ve ever had and tomatoes aren’t even in season! The service was fantastic; the staff were super knowledgeable and professional. I loved the ambiance as well. The music selection was killer and brought a fun and casual element to a very upscale dining experience, which I totally loved. Midori guided us through the sake tastings and was able to quickly identify my companion’s taste in sake, though he has very little experience with it. I cannot say enough good things about what they’ve got going on, and can’t wait to go back!

I loved this new spot for quality sushi. The toro tar tar was incredible as was all the pieces of nigiri we tried. Would recommend the sushi combo to try lots of variety, my favourites being the golden eye snapper and aji mackerel. I would skip the miso black cod and the sake flight however. The cod crust was mushy while the sake was too pricey to justify unless you have a pallet for quality sake. The interior is one of the nicest I've seen from a sushi restaurant and the bar seating is so cool to be able to interact with the chefs. The atmosphere is amazing down to the plates and glasses used to serve you. I will be coming back but only on special occasions. $212 dollars got me and my gf a premium sake flight and left us very full.

A gem that quickly became one of my favorite nigiri spots! The food is great, I get the sunomono and all of the California style nigiri every time I go. The servings of fish are generous (and so is the truffle + truffle salt on the Truffle Hamachi order!!). Orange Toro and the a.bu.ri are also impressive must-orders. In addition to the food, a big draw of this place is the service and intimate atmosphere. Highly recommend sitting at the bar -- Chef Mickey is always so friendly. Great hospitality with no pretentious attitude -- just good food and good vibes.

Okay, so this is likely the best sushi and fusion Japanese food in San Diego. They are new, and not yet too crowded - but make your reservations now, because once the word gets out, they will be booked for several months. The sushi is fresh, the fusion cuisine is stunningly excellent.
