Positive: "" Negative: Quality of furniture I felt like I was staying at a motel that you pay by the hour
Wifi works less than half the time, bad cell phone reception, no phone in room. Don't plan on communicating with anyone unless you leave.
We were very disappointed.|The con: The bathroom door didn't close, the first room refrig leaked and we were told to move next door. (After we were all unpacked) The new room did NOT have water coming out of faucet in bathroom.|The room was quite worn with broken lamp shade and rust in refrig. The towels arrived next day without wash clothes & next day without bath mat. No ice machine - All for over $200/night!|The pros: Nice desk clerk in the front office, quiet, bed comfortable- we slept well! |Advice if you go to hotel: Don't have room cleaned -just get towels.|
Got short notice orders to the Naval War College and needed a place to stay for the entire month of August before my housing became available. Everywhere on the island was completely booked or way to expensive. Harbor Base had great rates, and their staff worked with me to book a room for the entire duration and using different payment methods to satisfy my government travel requirements. The room fit what I needed for the price and was a very short drive into base. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and went out of their way to make my extended stay great, even getting me a room close to the front office where the wifi was a little stronger so I could work from home for class. I definitely appreciated their extra effort!
A decent no frills place to rest your head for a night or two. Room was clean and beds were ok, firm. Our room had nothing on the walls so visually it was bare. Water in the shower was less than hot but that could've been a one off experience as we were only there one night. The location was great as it's right on the line of Newport and Middletown. The woman at the front desk was very sweet. Overall 3 stars. For the price it was definitely right for our one night stay.
If you’re looking for a four star hotel at a two star price, this is not your place. If you’re looking for a decent, no frills two to three star hotel, this is your place. My room with two Queen beds was big enough for me. If there were four of us in the room we would have had just enough space. The air conditioning / heater device was noisy. There is no parking right at the door to the front desk area. The bed was not uncomfortable yet it was not the most comfortable bed I’ve slept on either. When I wanted to check out at 8:15 there was no one at the front desk and the door was locked. Consequently I left my key card in the mailbox.
