Happy Time Mediterranean Restaurant - Mediterranean restaurant in El Cajon - 2441 Jamacha Rd #106, USA

My friend, who is a native Iraqi, took me to Happy Time and I was blown away by the authenticity and deliciousness of the food. We ordered a sampler of things and the kanaf at the end was simply mouth-watering. Five stars for the food, service and friendliness!

Very good food. We had the combination plate w 2 beef &1 chicken kabob. Includes salad and rice. Additional Tabouli and Kunafa. Attentive service, and feel like home. Great dessert

Wow! I must say this has to be some of the most delicious food I have ever eaten in my life. I’m not even exaggerating. Chicken and Beef tikka plates both amazing. Hummus is the best out there flavor wise. I’m so glad me and the family finally tried this place. Will definitely be back. Thank you to the staff for the great food and service.

I loved the food. Fresh and delicious. Owner and staff were very friendly and attentive. Wonderful customer service! Very clean and beautiful sitting area. We had a combination plate between my husband and I. Loved every bite of chicken and beef. Big portions. My son had the lamb shank plate, very big and delicious. The rice is fresh and tasty. We'll be back for my birthday. Plus the owner came out to make sure we were happy with our meals multiple times. They really were very attentive. I highly recommend their desert Kunafa!

I absolutely love happy time. I eat there frequently and I am always happy with the food I order. I always get the beef shawarma wrap and it it delicious every time. You can't beat the quality of food for the price. Incredibly reasonable. The owner is really nice aswell.

This afternoon my Arabic friend said, let me show u where to go for good Mediterranean food. We ended here. It's a darling place. The owner is such a gentleman. The food was amazing!! For those who read my posts, u know I'm not a big meat eater. But this place is exactly why I would never be a vegetarian. These people know how to cook! The dish that was ordered was a Fiesta size combination of a variety of dishes. I dont know the names of them all but i know one was called Chicken Shwarma, and there was chicken and beef kobab (not exactly sure what it was called). We also ordered French fries... um not the kind from McD. The real kind. And for dessert Baklava. The meat was so flavorful! Amazing tantalizing taste and wildly delish!!! 😝😝😝Also the Lentil soup and the hummus was to die for!!! I could eat that hummus for days and days.😋😋😋😋😋 I'm definitely taking my family here to eat!!! It's a Happy Time at Happy Time. 4 people ate with extra to take home! Update 6/18/22 took my hubby and sister here to enjoy. So yummy. What a wonderful treat to come here and bring lots of leftovers for my children! They scared it all up. Nothing left!

Middle Eastern food lovers: Hummus is very good Potato salad is very good Kuba, samboosa, and a lot more. They cator small parties and fairly priced. We had 2 family occasions small parties in this place. The owner is very nice man, but the place has a lot of tasty meals.

If you dine-in or out your food will come in to go containers which was sad, but the upside is easier to clean! I have to say I most likely will not be coming back due to the quality and price. The price matches the best Lebanese and Mediterranean food in San Diego which it doesn't not do in the preparation of the food. The baba ganoush was very lack luster in taste while the dolma was good for being vegetarian! The plates for the amount of food was a lot, but no amount can make up for quality and how the food was prepared. Update September 19th 2021: I am going back through all my reviews of restaurants to be more stringent and to compete my due diligence of each. I have set forth three rules that all restaurant will need to follow to get a three star rating. The three rules for restaurants is the keep it fresh, keep it clean, and keep it simple! Getting a four or five star will become harder, but not impossible! Why? Well, people rating poor restaurants as five stars when they are barely a two or three is commonplace in Google Maps and I would like to fix this problem.
