The hotel is clean and looks like it is newly renovated within the last few years. I checked in on the app the night before and by 1 pm, I already received notification that my room and digital key is ready. The pool was under maintenance. Parking was free. Breakfast buffet was good with the standard waffle iron. The hotel was located very near to shopping.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Wooster OH on Honors points Tuesday night July 23 with my two senior dogs, who are extremely well behaved. I booked the reservation online at the Hilton site and noted the one-time pet fee of $50 for up to 4 nights as listed for this site at Hilton.com, and I selected the pet option while booking the reservation. After checking out I received an email receipt showing no charges and a zero balance. It was not a detailed invoice. Several days later while reviewing my bank statement I noticed a charge for $150. So I reviewed the online invoice, which happened to be detailed, and it showed a $150 pet fee. I called the hotel the evening of July 26 to inquire about this and was told I needed to speak with General Manager Gayla. I asked the clerk to leave a message for Gayla and to have her call me back. By Monday July 29 I had not heard back from anyone so I called again and spoke with Gayla, who said she would look into it and call me back. Today, August 3, I still had not received a call back and noticed the charge remained on my bank statement. I called back tonight and spoke with Gayla who informed me the $150 was a pet fee, which I already knew. I pointed out the Hilton website shows the Wooster Hampton pet fee as $50 for up to 4 nights and I was perfectly willing to pay the $50 fee. Gayla said it didn't matter what is listed on the Hilton website for this property because the property owner wants to charge everyone $150. I pointed out this was never mentioned to me at check in or anytime during my stay, nor was it posted anywhere and is in direct conflict with how it is listed online. Gayla became argumentative with me, accused me of trying to stay at this property without registering my pets, claiming the housekeeping staff informed her I had pets in the room, as if this was some big secret, and refused to adjust the fee to $50,whichis still listed on Hilton.com for the Wooster Hampton, and she literally hung up on me. Extremely disappointed by her rude and unprofessional approach to this matter and this unethical bait and switch billing tactic.

Do yourself a favor and skip this hotel. It is terrible. Although they seem to be doing some renovations to the outside, it is obvious that this place has been neglected for years. As soon as we pulled up, I knew it wasn’t going to be good. It was dirty, run down and overall sketchy. We didn’t even feel comfortable taking the elevator. It also appeared to be neglected and was filthy. To be fair our room was clean enough, but that did not outweigh everything else. The pool and workout area, we were told, will be closed until December. We have family who live in Wooster and when we told them where we were staying they said “oh thats a place you don’t want to stay at”. Truer words have never been spoken. Beth, the front desk clerk, was very nice and apologized for the overall disappointment. When we asked if there were water bottles for Hilton Honor members, which we are, we were told that the owner changed the policy and now they were available for purchase. This after we just paid $225 for a 2 bed queen room. Overall, I would give this hotel a negative star except for the two staff members (front desk and breakfast), who were trying hard given what they had to work with. I highly recommend that you stay elsewhere.

Absolutely worst Hampton I've stayed in. Room was dirty, damp and smelly. Pool looks like it's been under "renovation" for a long while. Garbage piled in the parking lot. Staff at front desk was missing for 1/2 hr to get take out. Phone in room didn't work. Printer didn't work and front desk could not print a document. Terrible. After incomprehensible response from the owner / manager .. I'd now change it to zero stars. I can now understand why there were 3 semi trucks taking up the very limited parking spaces in the parking lot.. makes perfect sense.

I was rudely awakened about 0730 from a much-needed rest by a worker pounding on the outside wall in back of the headboard of my bed. Did I misunderstand and was checkout 0730!?!? Then a computer issue and had to wait for a receipt. This is the second time I've had an issue at this location.I probably won't stay there again. BTW it'd be nice if the containers of cheap soap, shampoo, and conditioner were filled. What's happening to Hampton Inns?

My mother in law passed away, and we live out of state. We needed a hotel room for July 1st. We called in a reservation. The person who answered was friendly, but they tried to transfer us after making the reservation to sign up for things we don't need or want. We finally got to the hotel very late and tired. When we got there the girl at the desk was friendly. However when we got into the room and pulled back the blanket, on the 2nd bed, there was blood, including a blood clot on the comforter. There was also crumbs of food in the sheets. They absolutely did not change the bedding. The phone to the front desk did not work so I bundled the comforter and took it down to them. The girl got us 2 thinner blankets that I had my daughter wrap up in so she wasn't on the sheets. They didn't have anymore clean comforters. The bathtub was narrow and arched. My husband almost fell so when I took a shower I put a towel in the bottom to keep from slipping. When you walk outside to put things into your car, be sure you bring the keycard because the doors lock you out.We thought about staying another night on our way there, but when we saw the gross room, we changed our mind. The front desk staff was nice, but the place wasn't clean.

We stayed here for a wedding. We checked in at about 2:30 pm at the front desk. We returned to the hotel after the reception at about 9:45 pm and went to sleep. At 12:15 am, our hotel room phone rang. The manager said that she was doing a night audit and had to confirm that we were in the room. I asked why. The manager raised her voice and spoke to me loudly and slowly and said that she was doing a night audit and had to make sure I was in my room. She then ended the call. She refused to tell me why there was a problem with our room, and why the problem mandated a phone call in the middle of the night. I have stayed hundreds of nights in hotels and have never had this happen. I didn’t know if there was a problem with my credit card number - maybe it was stolen? Or if the hotel had a security problem or threat. My elderly parents were staying on a different floor (booked under the same reservation) and I did not know whether they were in danger. I have no idea why I got this phone call or why the manager refused to explain why I received the phone call. Thankfully, I was able to confirm that my parents were safe and there seemed to be no problems with my credit card. When I asked to speak to a manager the next morning, there was no manager on duty and the front desk person said that she had no idea why I would have gotten a phone call from the manager in the middle of the night- she guessed that there might have been a problem with the hotel’s computer. I am well-travelled professional with Diamond status and I was shocked by the treatment I received. None of us slept after the scare. I will be reporting this to corporate. I do not recommend staying here due to poor management. ||||The one bright spot was the kind woman who was the lone breakfast attendant. She dealt with so many spills of syrup and coffee with calmness and grace. She dealt with rude children and patrons demanding more food NOW with a smile and kindness. I can’t believe there was only one person working the breakfast area on such a busy morning. She was great and helped me wipe down a low table for my dad because he couldn’t manage the high top.

My stay was a total disaster. They gave me a digital key for another occupied room. Thank god they weren't there at the time. The room wasn't the cleanest I've ever been. The only thing that I liked from this hotel, was the kind and sweet lady in the kitchen (breakfast area).

**UPDATED WITH PICTURES!!** I cannot say enough nice things about the St Paul Hotel and their staff. Breakfast is served at your door and the exposed brick is everything. We stayed here for 2 nights and rented their event space for our wedding. Brend

I live down the street from here and love it when we decide to go for pizza while these guys are open. Their pizza is phenomenal, and the owners are the sweetest. The handmade ice cream sandwiches are also amazing. This place is a true gem!

My kind of place! Loved the brown sugar shaken espresso. Very local feel, and very cosy. A spot where it is easy to get comfortable, and get some caffeine in my blood.
