Hampton Inn Wilson Downtown - Hotel in Wilson - 2806 Wolf Trap Dr NW, USA

I would have given Hampton Inn of downtown Wilson, NC 5 stars because of the excellent customer service that I received from Hanna; however, after my check out, I realized later that night that it would be best to book another stay at the same location using my Hilton Family & Friends discount as always ($40), since I’m an former employee, and spouse of a current employee of Hilton. When I arrived at Hampton Inn of downtown Wilson, NC, I was accosted by Mimi, the most unprofessional manager that I have ever encountered in all of my many Hilton stays. She demanded to know where I formerly worked, and where my spouse currently works. She then said that the room was booked for the wrong date, and had me to cancel my stay from my phone. After canceling my reservation, I attempted to rebook, but due to the fact that it was past midnight I could only book for the next day. Mimi, the unprofessional manager, then informs me that the room that I had booked with my discount was the last room that was vacant, while she was still questioning the legitimacy of my Hilton Corporate issued discount. She then informed me that she would only book the room if I paid $77 for my stay. I declined because Mimi used deceptive tactics to get me to a price point that she was more comfortable with me having. Needless to say, I didn’t stay, and I had to drive back home to Hampton, VA, only because I refused to be extorted be Minnie. I said all this to say; Minnie doesn’t deserve her position, and Hanna has shown exemplary customer service as a representative of a Hilton property. You guys should consider replacing Mimi with Hanna. I choose not to book another stay at this location until a better and more professional employee has been selected.

Clean. Congenial staff. The room we were assigned had a mattress from hades. We could not believe they had placed BOARDS under the mattress to support it. I am germaphobic, so once l sanitized the room, we were reluctant to bring it to the staff's attention because we didn't want to sanitize another room. In addition, the boards were placed there by staff, so they already knew the mattress was gone bad.

Upon walking into my room, the first thing I noticed was that the tile floor in the entry was sticky on my shoes. Not just one spot, but the entire thing. Bathroom too. Making a peeling noise with every step I took. I then noticed that the bed linens were disturbed, as if someone had sat on the bed or leaned on the bed after it was made. This made me wonder if the room had been properly cleaned. Later, my colleagues told me that their floor was sticky as well. The carpet also felt like it had a coating on it, and left residue on my feet. The next morning, after I showered, I didn't want to walk on the floor so I used the bathmat to shuffle to my suitcase and retrieve my slippers. Turned over the bathmat that had traveled about 5 feet on the floor, and it was black filthy from the tiles. Clearly the floors aren't attended to. This makes one wonder what else isn't attended to. The desk chair was bent and couldn't be used safely. It's shocking to me that this hotel has the high rating it does. I wanted to provide the above feedback to Hilton directly, but interestingly of the 4 Hilton properties I've stayed in this week, this hotel is the only one that didn't send a survey.

Nice and quite with beautiful common areas: this HI is gorgeous: nice high ceilings and beautiful lobby and breakfast area. Breakfast was good: variety of foods: eggs and chicken tenders. I love there were working hand sanitizer everywhere. We were acknowledged HI members and received bottle water and cookies. They place a $25 "incidentals" on your bill make sure you get that refunded. The worse thing was the room itself: very dark: very limited lighting: lights at bed and desk. The window treatments horrible: the light comes in and it isn't good sleeping. I would say we were next to elevator and ice machine and there was no noise into our room. There are pro and cons staying here. Mixed review.

Traveling and had a late night check in as other hotels close to 95 were completely sold out. Staff was nice , bed was comfortable but the bathroom cleanliness was not up to standards. The toilet looks like it hasn’t been cleaned between any guests as there was dried urine on the seat and base of the toilet and fecal matter remnants on the outside of the bowl.

This hotel was is very nice! The room was clean and cozy and cute. Front desk and cleaning staff was nice. I love the built in hygiene products in the bathroom shower. The hot breakfast was definitely a plus! The price was affordable and my son enjoyed the treat during check in for being a Hilton member. It’s the little things! Issue with heat system in my room was resolved quickly and my stay was very comfortable! My 8 yr old gives 5 star rating as well! Thank you and keep up the good work!

Had a good stay here. I was in town for 1 night. Hotel is well maintained and room was clean. I was concerned about the nearby rail line but no trains came through at night. This is a good Hampton and worth the couple mins to drive over from 95. Also convenient to some good restaurants.
