Hampton Inn Turnersville (Philadelphia Area) - Hotel in Blackwood - 5800 NJ-42, USA

I was happy with my stay. Room did seem modern. Did not hear any outside noise. Room seemed larger than average. Coffee maker, fridge and microwave were included. Bed was comfortable. Drapes kept room fairly dark in the morning. All was clean. Hard floor which I guess is cleaner. However I did feel compelled to keep my voice down as when I talked there was a echo, and thus I did not want my neighbors to hear me. Hotel seemed in the late stages of a renovation.

Let me start by saying hotel is under renovation so I’m taking this into consideration when I’m writing this. We were traveling with a dog and had asked for low floor close to exit. I was informed all dogs go on first floor. Upon check in our party was given rooms on fourth floor. Not good when traveling with a dog. Floors 3 and 4 are remodeled. Floor 1 not. So the one room in our party was now on 4 in a beautifully remodeled room. We were switched to first floor which was better with dog. A very large room with a bed desk small TV across the room and a bench to sit on. They didn’t even leave a chair or sofa in there. Nothing but a bench and desk chair to sit on. Yet charged the same as any other room in hotel. |Now the real reason for only 4 stars. Saturday continental breakfast was the absolutely worst breakfast we have ever had. Bagels were like rocks. My husband thought bread was already toasted it was so stale. No fruit, no yogurt nothing at all healthy to eat. Not really much unhealthy to eat either. Decided Sunday we would go out to breakfast. Stopped at breakfast for some OJ and totally different breakfast. Fruit yogurt muffins scrambled eggs sausage potatoes. What you would expect. I think I would probably stay here again because room was comfortable and clean. And remodeled room was very nicely done.

The hotel may be under renovations but that did not take away from our experience! Our room was beautifully renovated and while they said breakfast options were limited the breakfast bar offered every option every other Hampton Inn I've ever stayed at offered!

While I certainly have realistic expectations about a Hamptons Inn, felt a few things should be shared. The staff was great, personable and helpful. However, the room was a little run down. Lots of chips in the furniture and what not. But there were bigger issues: housekeeping never came to clean the room/change towels. The wifi never worked and I was given a phone number to call about it- no one ever picked up and I tried multiple times. There was definitely a dead fly and hair around the shower upon my arriving. The room was interesting...there was no closet. All that said, the bed & pillows were comfortable, so I did sleep well.

The new construction is very nice, the room was clean, and the staff on Friday and Sunday were very nice. Room 314 did have a couple of things I noticed. The deadbolt on the door didn't work and there was some construction adhesive on the bottom of the shower wall. All things that's easy to miss on a final walkthrough after the update. The only complaint was the fat, lazy, and rude guy at the desk on Saturday morning. While getting breakfast I was looking to see if there was somewhere to sit with the construction being done and kind of taking to myself and said nowhere to sit. This guy chimed in and just gave a rude NO. First, I really wasn't talking to him just myself. Second, instead of being so rude since he did overhear me he could have had a suggestion. Maybe say I'm sorry but there are a couple of benches out front, or we could always take it to the room. He is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. Giving 3 stars would have been unfair because the remodel was done very well.

This place is trash. Guy at the desk straight up lied to my face about the internet. 1 bar of signal does not mean the Internet, "is just slow right now", it means your network isn't properly covering the area. One bar of wifi, I can't even connect to the Internet. Look at these speeds, Hilton you should be embarrassed.

Good for what and where it is. Clean rooms, nice and dedicated front desk people. Breakfast is standard, not great. I think they have coffee 24 hours

Great location, nice rooms, friendly staff. However, the chairs in the rooms are not really made for sitting and the internet is connection is slow. Only two important things from a 5 star review.
