Do NOT book here unless you are sure their renovations are complete! I booked through Hotels.com and THEN got a message from the hotel saying they were under renovation. They said the lobby was closed (were using a guest room for check-ins), there may be "some" construction noise between the hours of 9am and 5pm, and said breakfast would be "grab and go". The message was very misleading, in my opinion. Nowhere did they mention the pool would be closed, which it was. There was a construction worker on a crane outside of my window at 7:58am. There was only one elevator working and I was told the stairwells were closed due to construction. (I assume they'd let guests use the stairwells if there were a fire?) I wish I had taken pictures of the areas housekeeping "missed", but I will say it wasn't horrible... The WiFi was spotty, at best. I did not complain to the staff because I knew that they couldn't do anything about the situation. I did check out the two hotels across the street, and the one next door, but they appeared to be worse! (In hindsight, not the nicest area. I did my research too late. It was a last minute trip, as my son was in a nearby hospital.) I did send a complaint to the hotel's feedback page, but have had zero reply, which angers me even more. Hampton Inn used to be my favorite chain. Not anymore. I feel like they mislead me and are now avoiding communication. Shame on them.

Stay away - far away! I did my usual search for a Hampton where we planned to stop. The description said this one was being renovated, but it was still open and available. It also said there was a hot breakfast, pool, and all the usual amenities. We arrived, parked, and made our way via a circuitous route to a makeshift front desk in a guest room. It was an obvious effort for the two young men on folding chairs to check us in, and no smile, welcome, or any mention of loyalty status. I had to ask for water. They said breakfast would be grab and go. That was OK since we had done that during COVID, and we at least had hot coffee then. We settled into our nice, newly renovated, room but had to go all the way to the first floor for an ice machine. We were lounging on the bed, watching TV, when another couple walked in on us! They were apparently given the same room as we, as their key worked in our lock. The clerks obviously didn't just look and act incompetent; they were incompetent! In spite of this, we had a comfortable night. I was sitting at the desk in the morning and looked down at the floor and there was a pill! I thought I must have dropped it, but Google told me it was not a prescription that either of us takes. So, the room had obviously not been vacuumed between guests. Breakfast was a joke! There was NO coffee. The nice female clerk offered to make a pot for us, but no way were we going to wait a half hour for that. We grabbed a muffin and left and stopped at the nearest spot for coffee. To add insult to the situation, I just looked at the rate and it is being offered for $88 now! We paid $125 plus tax for a total of $141. grrr!

This hotel's website offers a pristine looking Hampton Inn. We were shocked when we arrived. It looked like an old abandoned hotel... in the Ukraine. The website mentions the hotel is under reconstruction and based on past reviews it has been for sometime now.. it says a few amenities might not be available. In reality this is a gutted hotel. The pool is green from thick thick algae. The check in process is done in a hotel room as is the Free Breakfast. The room numbers are written on tape on each door. In my opinion this hotel has no business being open. It looks like it's under construction not reconstruction. Still, that didn't stop Hampton Inn from charging full price for my stay.

My husband and I were traveling from Georgia to NJ and decided to stop and rest instead of traveling straight thru. We always stopped at a Hilton Hotel/ Hampton because we knew it would be very nice, Well this time, I had the worst experience. Renovations were awful. They should close down the entire hotel and re open when finished, I will never stay at a Hilton / Hampton Inn again. The front desk was a room with a desk and the girl greeted us at the door with her Pajamas on. I didn't sign anything and I was handed a key to my room . They took NO information at all. I was appalled and very upset. When we checked out we went to the same room. to hand in our key. It was a meg-shift office and not professional at all. |Don't go here. |Louise Arnold|conf 53521833

I booked this while on the road to another destination. The photos of the breakfast and pool had me excited as I was looking forward to eating and having a swim before continuing on my adventure. What I got was a pool that must have been very bad as it had been drained and jailed. It was late when we arrived, so I was just glad to be able to have somewhere to lay my head. The room was clean, and I dreamed of the breakfast I would be getting before I continued on my journey. I awoke sluggish after being awakened by people passing our room several times in the night as it seems the walls were made of paper. Still looking forward to that breakfast, I quickly showered and dressed to head down for the waffles and bacon, I love waffles and bacon..... And the moment of truth, the breakfast, I wanted to scream. There were no eggs, bacon, or waffles. There were basic items thrown out on a table, and the highlight was that the food was stored by a toilet. I was done. The least I could have gotten was a warning within the hotels app saying under construction and that amenities were not available. I would not have paid almost $200.00 for the night and stayed next door instead for a cheaper price, but knowing these things were not available. One star for being deceived and robbed of so much money. I am attaching photos of what I was promised and what was delivered. Feels like my stay was booked on Wish or TEMU.

When Hiton say "under construction" they really mean it. As of August 2024, the hotel is truly not fit to be accepting guests. Don't stay here until renovation is complete if you can possibly avoid it. Update: Just received Hilton's standard AI generated response from their marketing department. Same identical words they use on the other many reviews of this hotel, most of which get at the same basic concept: This hotel should NOT be open to the public and should be considered out of service. Hilton's template response shows how little they actually care about doing the right thing vs. generating revenue. If you read this review, then you have been fully informed and you wont be surprised should you decide to stay there.

i would rate the other categories except the only thing I saw was a 1st. floor guest room converted to an "office". We arrived around 9:00pm with a confirmed reservation, and was promptly told they had no rooms. When I asked for options The clerk shrugged his shoulders. and said sorry no, and we left. So here we are in Petersburg, VA no car, and no options. A $60 Uber ride later, we're back at the Richmond Airport finding a room there. Imagine my surprise when I found an email on 6/23/24 with a guest folio showing a $300 + change for a stay in Petersburg, VA? I immediately called the hotel, and was assured I would be refunded. 8 days later, still no refund. On 7/1, I spoke with the General Manager, Melissa Jackson and she issued my refund. Ok, so with the charge/refund snafu settled I moved on to compensation for travel to/from Hampton Inn by Hilton - Petersburg Ft. Gregg Adams, and relief for the first night we stayed in Hampton Inn by Hilton - Richmond Airport. I was given 20k in Hilton points for $120 worth of rides I didn't need to take, and for a room at the airport which we didn't check in until after 11:00PM because of the handling of this entire matter by management at Hampton Inn by Hilton - Petersburg Ft. Gregg Adams. General Manager Melissa Jackson, you should be ashamed of yourself for 1. Turning away confirmed guests without regard for safely, well-being, and having no plan for this situation. 2. Treating this situation as a "corporate matter" that doesn't allow for flexibility by offer 20k in Hilton points which is only "worth" about $120. As frequent travelers with disposable income we enjoy a buyer's market for goods and services such as these, and I think we'll spend our money elsewhere. I wonder what the other hotel brands are up to these days?

I love history, even tragic history. We visited this park years ago, but the visitor center was closed. I'm glad it was open this time. The park ranger/guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The driving tour was easy to follow.
